Priest Talent Evaluator: Instance Healing Spreadsheet v1.2 Print E-mail

Last updated: 8/9/05

From Awina:
This spreadsheet is designed to allow you to input your build and character stats, and then define a fight sequence for instance healing and compare the results on the output tab.

Updates:
In version 1.1
1. Fixed Improved Renew to be additional healing instead of reduced mana
cost.
2. Fixed Crit Healing bonus to be calculated after all Talent and Gear
bonuses.
3. Added explanatory comments in the cells that determine equivalent
Spirit for +mana, +healing and INT.
4. Adjusted SPI regen formula to SPI/4 + 13 instead of SPI/4 + 17 5.
5. Corrected End Time calculation to account for Added Delays
6. Corrected Total Fight Time calculation

In version 1.2
7. Fixed Flash Heal Rank 5 not showing up in drop downs
8. Fixed Amount Healed for Holy Nova (+healing effects, # of targets)

Admin's note: This is one of the nicest looking spreadsheets I've seen put together yet. I'd definitely recommend taking a look at this one.

Hi,
Just created an account. This sounds like a great tool. Where is it?

Thanks,
Mike

As an investment banker by day and wow priest by night, I must say this is incredible.

ah ok thanks :)
So the 15% meditation talent does its work in the 5 second rule actually. Well I hope it does :)
I think I'll trye some more x mana / 5 sec equip. And throw some points in holy instead then. Maybe later when I got 3 pieces of Transcendence, I get meditation again to get 30% regen.
Regen

If you start from a standstill, and start casting Flash Heal you will still be in Full Regen until Flash Heal lands, which is 1.5 seconds.

If you immediately start another Flash Heal, it will land when you are 1.5 seconds into your 5 second rule from the first Flash Heal, and thus reset the 5 second clock again. Thus, during the casting of your second Flash Heal you are NOT at full regen, as you are still considered within the 5 second rule.

Chain casting any heals (since all are under 5 seconds) will keep you fully under the 5 second rule at all times until oom.

when I cast a flash heal I'm 1.5 seconds in full regen still.
After that I'm 5 seconds in low regen (15% of full).
But what if I cast another flash heal before that 5 seconds are past? Am I again in full regen for the next 1.5 seconds?
flash rank 5

I do not see flash rank 5 in the drop down list on the setup worksheet.
Excel only probably

I'm sorry you can't open the file. It is for Excel only due to some of the formulas used to make it work probably, but I'm not sure if some of the non-Windows Office packages could make it work or not. Wish I could help you more :(

Update

Thanks for the feedback :)

A few points:

- I will correct for the Improved Renew error as noted. Thanks!

- PW:Shield is included as a Heal. This assumes that it's damage mitigation is fully used more times than not, and that the times it isn't is approximated by the "overhealing" percentage chosen. This may not be ideal, but I didn't want to exclude it altogether as I view it as a Heal. I could incorporate a secondary "overhealing" setting just for PW:Shield possibly.

- The "Spirit" calculations are done by determining how much mana that Spirit generated per point during the fight, and then given this number asking:

A. How much Spirit, therefore, was required to generate the same amount of mana available during the fight as 1 point of starting INT?

B. How much mana did +healing save during the fight (does not account for the higher HP/S), and then how much Spirit would have been needed to generate that same amount of mana per point of +healing (this is more complex computation).

C. How much Spirit did it take to generate the same amount of mana as 1 mana/5 sec.

Some of this is complex, and could be done multiple ways, so I apologize if I don't explain it properly.

Thanks for the feedback.

I noticed something else, the talent Improved renew improves the amount healed by renew, not the cost of the spell.
Nice tool, just a note

The critical is calculated after the +healing.

that's just amazing, nothing more to bed said about that.
I do have one thought/question about what the equivalent to spirit part means though. How does that work exactly?, like how much spirit your gaining by having x amount of +healing or mana/5sec regen gear?
Amazing.
