BestBuff version 1.5Description :
BestBuff is a tool for buffing the best possible rank of various buffs on the current target.
In WoW a person can only receive a buff if they are at least ten levels below the level the buff can be learned. For instance, a buff learned at level 40 will only work on players 30 and up. This is a tool for buffing lower-level friends, drive-by buffings and buffing mixed levels without clicking down the ranks in the spellbook.
There are only two slash commands:
/bestbuff : bring up the BestBuff configuration window
/bestbuff reset : reset BestBuff to default settings
UseageThere's now two ways to use BestBuff:
1. As a macro/script function: /script BestBuff("buffname"). ie, /script BestBuff("Power Word: Fortitude")
or
2. By letting BestBuff automatically adjust ranks cast naturally from the action bar.
By default, the latter ability is disabled. To enable it, you'll need to pull up the configuration window by entering: /bestbuff
Here you can enable the automatic aspect of BestBuff, add new buffs, or determine whether particular buffs will self cast or spam you when they cast.
Once done, you can drag any rank of the spell from the spellbook to a hotbutton bar and casting it from there will cast the spell through BestBuff. The two primary benefits of this are immediate cooldown indicators and it frees up macro slots formerly dedicated to BestBuff. Special thanks to Saien for the intuitive leap to enable this.
Default BuffsBuffs supported can be seen when you /bestbuff. It's a priest-centric list but any buff should work if you want to add any.
In previous versions of BestBuff, buffs were defined in the .lua file and needed to be edited every update. Buffs are now saved in SavedVariables.lua. This is not much more permanent, so instructions on adding default buffs are in BestBuff_Defaults.lua. For future updates you can skip extracting this file and it will keep your defaults intact. At any time you can /bestbuff reset to bring the buffs back to the default stored in this file.
Adding buffs is fairly painless if you'd rather not edit any .lua files. In the config panel, enter a buff name and the levels it can be learned and hit 'Add.'
