The last patch introduced the Priest epic quest. Here we will try to compile as much information as possible to help you all get and finish this quest! We will post more detailed info as we get it.

Written by Cherry on 2006-12-24 22:59:42 just did this quest, peasant hp bar still can be seen via these 2 functions: Shift-V now shows friendly targets only, not enemies (with a new bindable hotkey.) Control-V shows both friendly targets and enemy targets (with a new bindable hotkey.) just need to check to make sure you have them key binded. =)

One really think it's impossible... esp Written by Wah on 2006-12-03 19:38:54 It took me 4 tries to figure out the way to do this, and 2 tries to make it work. I'm assumed that you already got your eyes and all... and before hand, I need to make it clear that I bought my eye of shadow for 200g and got my eye of divinity by luck cause everyone already got it. I have 1 piece of tier 0 gear, no epic, and just a tinderhaven staff. Lousy equipment. Btw, you can't have anyone around to help, solo only or a Demon will come out and wipe everyone with 1 hit. Here is how: 1. Oil immolation a must, hot key it use them often. 2. Bind key under "key bindings" so u can tab over to "Nearest friendly target". 3. Hot key abolish disease key next to heal. 4. Hot key renew (lvl 5) and Flash heal (lvl 4) 5. Major mana potion (with my lousy equipment, I ran out of mana and have to wait for buff to restore a little) Use Major mana potion early. 6. Hot key Holy Nova (I downgrade mine) 7. Greater intellect potion (+25wis) 8. Sunfruit juice (from Argent dawn merchant) The order: 1. Abolish disease one first, then renew 2. See low hp, flash heal 3. Wait for skellies to gather, holy nova (u probably will use 4 nova in the whole process) 4. Keep oil of immolation once you see the skellies approach, but most of them died with 1 hit of holy nova. Comment: 1. Many said mechanical yeti helps, I didn't use it, but I'm sure it does, but make sure you give it couple try first so u know how the quest work. 2. Some said, don't waste mana on Holy Nova... it helps a lot because they are attack you and the villager, once they gathered, 1 hit of Holy Nova, they are all dead. 3. With my lousy equipment, I didn't even use any druid, pally or mage buff... so don't worry about it. 4. V key doesn't work anymore, you can't see the health bar, don't even waste your time. (that's why bind key on nearest friendly unit may help, but I ended up didn't use it) 5. Don't wait until they walk all the way before you turn around, toss the one that have health lower than half a renew and then start back to the cave. 6. Don't panic when the peasants started dropping... even 2 at a time, just focus on step 1: abolish disease and renew/flash heal depends on how low the health bar, once u toss a renew, u probably don't have to worry about it for a while. Seriously, after the 1st 3 tries, I thought I couldn't do it because of my lousy equipment. It can be done. I have 7k mana and 3.5 health. I suggest you should try it 3-4 times to practice. Good luck! Happy Benediction owner Wahnita |
finishing the q w/o bored friends trying Written by clearwarwe on 2006-11-11 05:09:29 Great advice, thx for supplying this info! But don't feel depressed if you dont have all the equip etc that is mentioned on this site. I did this just now with my priest, and she is definitely not well geared. She has only the 3 armor items u get as "just compensation" (tier .5), the rest is blue. A decent amount of enchants on them, admittedly, but nothing fancy (I have only 260 in enchants, too lazy too lvl it standing on AH bridge :). I didnt even use my trinkets at all, since i was too stressed to think about it :) As buffs go, I had only a mark of the wild on me (easy to get from nice ppl in IF even if u dont have friends online). In addition to my own, ofc. Potion-wise, i had 2 major mana (dont forget to use the first not too late, bc of the timer). Here is how i did it. Bascially, i followed the advice on this site, with a few minor adjustments: Basics - I used fear on the skellies whenever they came at the same time as the peasants approached (if possible, natually). Saved me time to focus on curing peasants. It is really stressful to keep these farmers alive, since they die like flies when they get poisoned. - I used mainly renew (apart from the standard abolish ofc), not flash heal if not really necessary (if they were on others die (and also i think it is waste of mana, since they stay alive from renew only). Thus (1) mark peasant (2) abolish (3) renew.. etc was my basic algorithm in this fight. Notes on skellie-fighting Even though i used holy nova on the skellies when they came back from the fearing and otherwise, i made sure there were a lot of them on me b4 bursting the nova. This is really important, bc it is a real mana-drainer if u use it too much. For single skellies or just a few, which i got quite a few of between the major skellie charges, i used my wand. They die on one shot only, ofc, and that saved me a lot of mana (so keep ur “shoot” on one of the numbered slots as well). Dont panic if u get hit, they deal out a small amount of mana and you can easily heal yourself if in urgent need. Saving mana is the key here, ofc, never forget it! Notes on the papier-maché farmers: Obviously, start with the poisoned ones. In the beginning it is really hard to click on the right one. Put the camera a bit higher than normally helps out here, but also waiting a bit (but not too much since they ARE made of papier-maché ). That is, they spread out quite fast, so after a while it is not hard to get the right one, abolish, renew and go to the next. Next to the poison-clouded ones, the ones with the arrows in them need attention. Renew is sufficient here as well, for the most part. If you get any time in between poisoned and arrowed ones, go through the rest, but that is almost optional since this q keeps you busy enough even w/o that :) Note that some WILL die, and that is fine. Almost 3 per wave is ok, so do not panic when u hear that "aaooh" sound. Just stay focused on the remaining ones: first the poisoned ones, then the ones getting a lot of arrows in them. Finally, I recommend u to spend more time actually learning the quest by doing it (log in with another alt or something for 15 mins until it respawns) than going back to IF etc to get buffs and new potions of sorts. Mana pots are ofc essential here, but rest I think is a matter of learning the flow of the q. It is hard, but not impossible at all, to do on your own with half-bad equip. A couple observations Written by Raikanitchu on 2006-09-29 07:18:38 Got my benediction last night. Woot. Here's a couple of things I learned. First, your friends can AOE the melee skellies even though they can't see or target them. The cleaner won't come out as long as your friends stay off to the sides by where the skellies spawn. I had a mage and two priests with me last night doing AOE. I didn't have to worry about a single skelly. I just focused on healing. Even with that, it took two attempts to get it done. Tough quest. Second, apparently the health bars don't show up on the ghost villagers. I have my name plate keys set up for V, shift V, and CTRL V. They work fine on players, other NPC's and typical mobs. But, I couldn't see them on my targets in this quest. Turning off the text balloons in the interface option was another huge help the second time. |
Did this quest Written by Drien on 2006-09-14 10:16:23 I just did this quest. It was really easy! The "v" thingie didnt work but I finished the quest on first try, with only my own buffs and I used NO pots.. Used bandage one time.. I got like 3,3k hp and like 6,3k mana.. Good luck too all trying :) |
Written by Ypog on 2006-09-11 06:40:09 The truth is, you can not see peasants' health with neither V, Shift+V nor Ctrl+V.I did this quest pre-1.12 on my first priest and I did it at first attempt, now I died at third peasants wave even though I popped desperate prayer and major mana pot and many oils of immolation. Good luck, you gonna need it. |
Read the patch notes! Written by Skyri on 2006-09-06 23:39:25 Why does it seems no one ever reads the patch notes? it is NOT true that you can no longer use V to see health. They have actually made it a whole lot easier if you bother to read the patch notes. User Interface - V key functionality has been improved in several ways. V key now shows summoned monsters (such as the gargoyles in Stratholme.) V key now shows both monsters and player enemies. V now shows enemies only (no longer shows friendly targets.) Shift-V now shows friendly targets only, not enemies (with a new bindable hotkey.) Control-V shows both friendly targets and enemy targets (with a new bindable hotkey.) See the part about shift and control V? Have fun and GL! |
1.12 Written by thekemist on 2006-08-29 08:20:59 UPDATE: I completed this quest on 8/26/06 just after Patch 1.12 was released. There have been two significant changes with the new patch: 1) You can no longer "V" toggle on these mobs. There is no way to pull up the health bars above the peasants heads to aid in healing. 2) People who have already completed the quest can no longer see the peasants or skellies with their Spectral Essence. The only effective way that I could find to rapidly scan through the mabs and successfully complete the quest was to bind "Target Nearest Friendly" to my Caps Lock key and tab through them as quickly as possible. I did complete the quest on my 4th try. No buffs but my own and no pots at all (I'm all blue with 1 purple, Holy Spec). Good Luck! |
1.11 Written by soulwind on 2006-08-05 13:52:55 Notes: First of first-Spectral Essence has been changed, for those of you who didn't know this, it now only works and occurs on Caer Darrow, so it cannot be used for this quest anymore. Second: You must have the Eye of Divinity now to do this quest at all. Their's no skipping it now folks. You have to have the EOD and the EOS to make your staff, so might as well get to MC and get your EOD before you bother. EOS: This now drops off demons, which yes, I can confirm since I got mine there last night. It is easier to get one off a demon than it is to get a group willing to try Kaz. (and suceed) --Soul |
Addition Written by eternal_star01 on 2006-08-04 04:42:39 Holy Nova 3 worked amazingly, btw...Flash Heal 5 I found was sufficient for average healing gear and I used Cure disease rather than abolish. |
Finally completed mine Written by eternal_star01 on 2006-08-04 04:36:48 At first, when I read that the 1.10 patch decreased the cooldown time to 15 minutes, I couldn't believe it, but it's true, yay. So, it took me 6 or 7 tries to do the quest, though two of them weren't entirely my fault. On the second attempt, I lagged really bad, and by the time it was done, I'd lost too many peasants to bother. The 5th time, I logged back in to find another priest in the process of failing his quest, so we grouped up and he accidently healed me, which, of course, spawned the cleaner. So...here's what I found made the quest much simpler (besides having the second priest do half the job :P). When the wave first spawned, I took the V-targeting off their heads like someone previously suggested. It made targeting and curing the disease that much easier. Do that as fast as you possibly can, then get to healing right away. I failed many times because I thought healing took priority over curing the disease, but no. Healing is a waste of mana and time if you don't cure the disease. With two priests, one stayed by the NPC, one did the running (me). I would do the inital disease curing, healing and skeleton killing. Once they hit the edge of the purple zone it was up to the second priest to make sure that group stayed disease free and healed while I took care of skeletons and waited for the next wave. What I used...a Brilliant Mana Oil, 1 Greater Mana Pot, 1 Demonic Rune...buffs were Improved Fort, Divine Spirit, Inner Fire, Mark of the Wild and Moonkin Aura. New NCP Respawn time and a few more hint Written by Gunetero on 2006-06-29 00:56:37 I've been very much apreciative of the feedback and help given by this page. I got myself all worked up that I wouldn't be able to do it on my first time and needed a large number of buffs.Well, I didn't do it on my first time, nor my second. It took me four tries but here is what I learned... The quest giver respawn time is now more like 10-15 minutes instead of the two hours it was before. I logged my char out as soon as I failed to save some of the timers on my buffs. I changed to another char and did a couple of things and got ready to head to bed when I decided, "I'll just check to see if she respawned"... She had so I gave it another try and ran out of mana a second time and failed almost immediately. I'm not used to running out of mana that fast so I did some checking and discovered the following: Use Holy Nova Rank 3 instead of Rank 6 (Which I had hotkeyed by default). The skellys will be killed in one blast. I probably could have used Rank 2 because of my Spirit talent but Rank 3 definately worked. Downgrade Flash Heal to Rank 4 or 5 depending on how much +Healing gear you have. I had about +315 with the talent, buffs and gear. Same goes for your Renew spell. The npcs you are healing don't have a ton of health anyway and the individual damage they take can be counteracted by rank 3-4. You can make up the difference with your Flash Heal. Use Cure (Instant Cast) instead of Abolish. Not only is it less mana it's instant cast unlike Abolish. I ended up using 2 mana pots during the quest still but I was able to get it done on my fourth try with a lot less buffs than when I did the first try. |
No Longer Works Written by chayla on 2006-06-24 12:54:13 Spectral Essence no longer works to see the NPC in EPL for the Benediction quest. Confirmed today 6/24/06 |
BTW ... Written by Chayla on 2006-06-16 09:57:33 This is my second preist ... So my second benediction I did without outside help (in case there is confusion). |
Splinter does not disintegrate Written by Chayla on 2006-06-16 09:56:04 I got the EoD last night and had the splinter for about 3 weeks to a month now. I also had an EoS so when I received the EoD I crafted Benediction in Domo's Chambers ... Some of my guild mates didn't realize that I had the other 2 pieces and were shocked that you could get the Splinter without having the EoD. Incidentally ... for all you guys that are buffing like there is no tomorrow? This can be done with only the buffs you have available to you as a priest. Try it "as intended" and you will feel so much better at gaining your reward. The first time I did it I was buffed and had another priest there. This time, I told no one and I went alone and did it ... the sense of accomplishment was greater and the reward sweeter this time knowing I did it by myself. |
Rumor Written by Lafonda on 2006-06-10 22:23:44 What you heard is completely untrue. I still have my splinter and I did the quest about a week ago. |
Splinter of Nordrassil....conjured?! Written by stavfx on 2006-06-10 06:23:57 i heard somewhere that the Splinter of Nordrassil, the reward from this quest, disappears after you log-out, hearth, zone... so unless you have the 2 eyes to combine it right when you finish it's a waste of time... it sounds weird to me, since it doesn't say anything like that on the tooltip of the item. can anyone testify for having the splinter for a while before combining it into the staff? thx |
Written by stavfx on 2006-06-05 14:34:13 ah yes! that was it! i was later able to see her! thx |
Also! Written by Lafonda on 2006-06-05 09:56:03 She was probably despawned from some one failing the quest. When people the fail the quest she despawns for two hours. |
Eye of Shadow Written by Lafonda on 2006-06-05 09:53:13 You do NOT need the Eye of Shadow equipped to see the questgiver. I only had the Spectral Essence equipped and was able to see her. My coordinates were 20,18 and I went back to check today just to make sure I wasn't giving people wrong info. I could once again see the questgiver. She is not at the entrance of the cave, so maybe you just missed her? I even equipped the Eye of Shadow AND the Spectral Essence at the same time and could see her. |
Written by stavfx on 2006-06-05 08:57:56 update on my post below, i tried going to the quest giver with Spectral Essence and The Eye of Shadow equipped. nothing. help? |
Spectral Essence...O RLY?! Written by stavfx on 2006-06-05 04:48:33 i was excited to hear you can use the trinket before you get the eye of divinity, so i went to the spot, had my trinket equipped and...nothing! i couldn't see the quest giver! should i have the eye of shadow equiped or something for that? |
Oops Written by Lafonda on 2006-06-01 02:28:38 Under what I used, it should be inner focus not inner fire. |
Yes, you can use the spectral essence. Written by Lafonda on 2006-06-01 02:24:45 I would like to confirm that you can use the Spectral Essence to complete the quest "The Balance of Light and Shadow" and recieve the Splinter of Nordrassil. Of course, you still need the Eye of Divinity to complete the staff, but for an impatient person like me, having the splinter makes me sit a lot easier I would also like to confirm that any priest who has the Spectral Essence or Eye of Divinity equipped is able to heal and cure the peasants with no penalty. I had a priest friend equip his Spectral Essence and take over healing and curing the peasants once I reached the ghost priest. I would then run back to the front of the cave to get a head start for the next wave of peasants. Considering how easy this was, I'm sure the help of my friend wasn't even needed. Whoever decided to use holy nova rank 3 is a genius! It's easy to get flustered and fumble around for your oil of immolation, but holy nova made it so much easier to concentrate because the skellies were dead immediately. I did not use one oil of immolation the entire time. My following buffs were: Mark of the Wild Arcane Intellect Cerebral Cortex Compound (+50 int) Headmaster's Charge (+20 int This buff stacks with any intellect buff. Good luck finding some one with the staff to give you the charge though :P) Power Word: Fortitude Inner Fire I used: 1 Major mana potion 1 Dark Rune Inner Fire (can't go wrong) Desperate Prayer (this is a given if you have the spell) Good luck to anyone who attempts this! My experiences and video! Written by shaftscaliber on 2006-05-26 16:55:39 First I want to say thanks to all the people that did this quest before me and put in their time and energy to do write up's...they all really helped a lot. Thanks! After about 4 months (literally) of killing Domo over and over he only dropped 1 (yes ONE) eye and 13 leaf's (grrr!!!!). The 1 that dropped went to a priest before me because he was going for +mana/5 gear and didn't want all the prophecy pieces. Anyways...I finally got my eye from last night's raid (and we downed Rag for the first time - only our 3rd or 4th "real" attempt too!) and decided I was going to get my well deserved staff finally. When the event started, my heart was beating fast (haha no really it was!) I was all nervous...I told myself I was going to try beating the quest without letting ANY of the peasants die, but I'm not sure if that's even possible. I know for sure that if I do it again, I'd do a lot better...but I guess I can't really complain seeing as I beat it on my first try :) I think 3 or so peasants died very early on because I just didn't cure their diseases fast enough. Some parts were getting pretty hectic (like how the health bars were moving ALL over the place hehe..I'd go to heal or cure disease one then it's heath bar would move all the way to the other side), but it was still pretty damn easy overall. I busted out my Mechanical Yeti that I've been saving for like 6 months (no lie!) and I figured he was going to mow down all the skeletones...but I'm not even sure if the little bastard helped...grrr! I had quite a few buffs but they were all from myself except for motw from a druid. I hope my fellow priests take pride in themselves and do this SOLO because doing it with other priests or with a group buffing you while you're playing is just plain lame! Enjoy! http://files.filefront.com/youjeenbenewmv/;5073528;;/fileinfo.html |
Use Spectral Essence if you don't have Written by dags on 2006-05-18 09:34:10 I just completed the "Balance of Light and Shadow" without having the Eye of Divinity. Instead, I equipped the "Spectral Essence" trinket from the Eva Sarkhoff scholo quest chain to see the quest giver in EPL. Here are a few points worth noting from my successful run: 1. I did it solo with no help whatsoever. The key is using the right spells (abolish disease, renew rank 4 on the peasants), and dispensing with the skellies quickly. The key there is Holy Nova rank 3, and periodic Oil of Immolation. 2. Don't get flustered. Toggle "V" off to make selecting diseased peasants a little easier, take care of them first, then watch the health of the others. When the skellies pop, forget about the peasants and get rid of the skellies quickly. 3. A single rank 4 renew on peasants around 50% health was generally sufficient to keep them alive through the walk. 4. Don't stay with the groups too long. Once your abolishes and renew are up on the worst peasants, let them go as they approach the ghost priest. You need to get back to the next group quickly to tend to the deseased peasants right away. Overall, a nerve-racking event that bested me twice before I finally heeded the good advice I read here, and in other forums. I must stress, however, that this is possible alone. You don't need anyone to help you if you manage your mana, get rid of the skellies, and don't over-heal. Buffs and Items I used: 1. Fort 2. Spirit 3. Shadow Protection 4. Elixer of Greater Intellect (1) 5. Brilliant Mana Oil (1 charge) 6. Oil of Immolation (used 6) 7. Sagefish Delight ( for another +6 mana/5 sec) I had 7600 mana, +253 healing. Good luck. -daghor NE priest, suramar |
Got my staff! Written by Elixis on 2006-04-07 06:54:13 Well I know the last guy said it, but yes use Rank 3 Holy Nova. The oil is not really needed. Keep a few incase since it doesnt use mana. Get the buff from felwood (Cleansed Songflower) and even maybe the intellect buff (Cerebral Cortex Compound) off Burning Stepps quest. (yeah i really hate that quest.) I used 1 mana pot. 2 whipper roots (Cleansed Whipper Root) from felwood. 1 demonic rune. 2 berries and used my inner focus (free spell cant go wrong). Ive seen some people use flash heal. Others use renew. Both seem to work fine. I used a rank 8 renew on all peasents when they were at half life. Worked good for me. Just make sure to conserver your mana and youll be fine. Be patient as well. focus on the task and before you know it youll be done!

1.10 patch Written by TheEllna on 2006-04-04 11:23:39 I FINALLY completed this last night just in time for our ZG run. One thing I haven't seen mentioned here which helped me immensely during this quest was using a mere rank 3 holy nova (which is now spammable) which 1-shots the melee ud that attack you. Saved myself lots of mana vs. rank 6 and only used 1 mana pot. Also only used 4 oils of imm and probably didn't even need them.

How i did it/multi priests Written by pattimus on 2006-03-27 06:33:05 I obtained the Eyes, and decided to go for the quest saving the peasants in EPL. I did that part of the quest on March 26, 2006, patch 1.9. I tried two times solo, and failed miserably both times. I am spec'd with Holy Nova, which is wonderful in wiping out the skellies. Too bad the archers are immune to everything, including Shackle Undead. The time I succeeded, there were three other priests that showed up that also needed the quest. This is due to the fact that it was Sunday morning and alot of guilds do Sat night MC runs. We developed a strategy, and we succeeded. Basically, the other three priests stood on top of the hill by the NPC and did not move. However, they were able to heal the peasants with no adverse effects at all. I started the quest, the others got the prompt to join also. I then ran to the cave and would abolish disease and cast renew (rank 5) on them, and a low level of flash heal (4 or so) on the ones that were really critical. After about 10 seconds, they were now within healing range of the other priests on the hill, who took over the healing and got them safely to the destination. It is important to remember that the other priests CAN NOT heal you or touch the skellies! I killed all the skellies. I think if the other priests would have touched the skellies, it would have summoned the named that squishes you. I used Holy Nova (rank 2) which easily wiped them out, and used less mana than rank 3. Too bad about the 30 sec cooldown. I also used two Strat Holy Waters when it got bad between cooldowns, and had Oil of Immolation in my system the entire time. I used Fear on the skeleton warriors once to get them off the peasants, and to gain their aggro. PW: Shield was up the whole time. As far as potions are concerned, I don't remember the name of everything I used, but I did use an Elixir of Superior Defense, Mighty Troll's Blood Potion (+health regen), some potion that gave me +12 mana regen/5sec, Elixir of the Sages, and some food that gave me mana regen. I downed one major mana pot in the fight, and ended with about 60% mana. I had to heal myself just once with a top rank renew. Solo, this quest is hard. If you are unable to do it, you could always camp the area like I did and wait for help to show up. In the end, you end up the uber priest staff, which is well worth the hours I spent in EPL waiting for the NPC spawn. When 1.10 comes out, this will be super easy.... renew, spam Holy Nova. a shadow priest's perspective Written by vbrokop on 2006-02-26 19:08:37 02/26/06 i have just completed this quest after the 4th try. if you're a shadow priest, you will find what i have to write here valuable. firstly, it seems that everyone in the above posts who have had an easy time of it have been healbot spec, and as a pvp shadow priest, am the farthest from. i have a very small mana pool and thus, rely on mana/5sec gear when in MC and healbot or dispelbot duty. buffs: fort int motw crystal spire crystal ward inner fire i used only 8 oil of immolations throughout the fight. i also had my mechanical yeti help. for potions, i used 2 major mana, 1 superior mana, 1 demonic rune, and 1 whipper tuber. there are three extremely important things to remember during this event: 1) pressing V to display npc health bars are as much help as hindrence, due to their unpredictable nature; they hop all over the place in a very chaotic fashion and easily lead to frustration. this is THE reason i failed it three times. use them, but know when to toggle. this is the sole reason i suggest running through the event a couple of times before using any consumables to get the hang of it. 2) DO NOT delay in getting back to the cave entrance. i had a habit my first couple trys of staying with the previous waves until they were 100% safe, which is simply the wrong thing to do. once the next wave spawns, you have to leave the others be and hike it up there to dispel/renew and gain skeleton aggro through use of oil of immolation. 3) continually be doing *something*... whether it be popping a potion or dispeling or renewing; targets that had more than 50% health i renewed with rank 6. i did not cast any rank of flash heal once during the fight. i had a measly +68 healing for the event but chose this specific set of gear because it gave me 81 mana per 5 seconds. since you're within the 5-second rule almost the entire event, this seemed to me to be the best way to go. if you don't have sufficient amount of mp5 gear, use your +healing gear and lower-ranked spells. for us shadow priests, it's more of a challenge due to our reduced mana pool, but it's certainly doable. good luck. |
update! Written by buckfast on 2006-02-18 14:36:51 As of half an hour ago, the quest was still doable with multiple priests grouped as long as the extra priests stand on the hill and do nothing............that was my job, a big thanks to Hrarmge for doin such a great job in the event! We also had to ungrouped druids sitting at the cave entrance in bear form and with thorns on, they took alot of the skellies out of the game and didn't interfere with the event. |
For those asking about Shaman Help Written by nachinnici on 2006-02-11 10:24:45 Ok, since the question has been asked several times without an answer on whether or not Shaman's totems can help with this quest like Paladin Aura's do, I decided to find the answer for all you Horde players out there. The short answer is yes they can buff you without ruining the quest. More detailed... They must pretty much stay by the quest giver, they can't move. They can continually cast non-offensive totems (Stoneskin, Mana Tide, etc.) and they will stay out of combat. The problem is that the range of the things is pretty crappy and by the time you get to where you have led your peasants to where the buffs effect you, it's pretty much time to run up and start healing the new group. One more thing to add that is helpful since it is new as of the 1.9 patch is get some Mana Oil for you weapon, Enchanters can make this and it is a mana per 5 second buff for 30 min.

Engineering Pets Written by Bulazindi on 2006-02-02 23:08:41 I have a couple of questions. First, are in "In Combat" the whole time for the quest, or is it possible to change out trinkets, etc in the middle. Second, (and somewhat correspondingly) I have heard of people using mechanical yetis, is it possible to use Engineering pets, or would that bring out the cleaner? Thanks! |
UI help Written by durrin on 2006-01-26 23:42:44 i'm having trouble targeting the bars \for the epic staff quest does anyone know of a UI addon that makes the bars move around less or puts them into a table form or anything along those lines any help would be good ty |
Tassadar @ ZdC Written by Guest on 2005-12-22 08:14:41 well... I don´t know if someone mentioned it yet.. But I got my Eye of Shadow from the demons in Winterspring by the help of a paladin in my guild Just make sure the demon AND you have the manaregen-thing and you easily can make it a long time without trinking something Uhm...maybe I should say that you should heal the pala only with greater heal and renew ;) after ~100demons it dropped for me.. looking forward for the other eye *hrhr* benediction...I´m comming!! :) |
surely.... Written by Guest on 2005-12-21 13:39:51 evryones talking about how they managed the solo bit with saving peasants etc, but surely the hard bit is killing all those lvl?? bosses and summoning Major Domo (and getting his chest) And then getting the other eye from krazzak (i think) . seems like this'll take forever..? |
My Story Written by Guest on 2005-12-21 10:15:25 Technically it took me two attempts, but the first failure wasn't my fault. Attempt 1: I was fully raid buffed with all 60 minute buffs by guildies after we left MC including 45 minutes left on Flask of Distilled Wisdom. The NPC was despawned (aka someone failed the quest before I got there) I waited for about 40 minutes by myself and then Vicci came out to make certain I was in the right are for the NPC and showed me the exact spot of where I could find her. My buffs all started to die out, so Vicci and I hearthed back to IF. I was gonna log out, but figured WTF I'd already wasted nearly an hour camping, might as well go camp some more. So, I asked a Druid for some paw and a Mage for some smarts and hopped on the Grif. I came out of the tunnel and, "Woot!" there was the NPC. So I started the quest. I was on my sixth wave of peasants and had only let about 5-7 die so far (meh, they looked like Rogues ) When a Priest-who-shall-remain-nameless came out of the tunnel and "The Cleaner" came out and sent us to the graveyard in about 5 seconds flat. Some have suggested that I was griefed, but being the kindhearted person I am, I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt. But, the person didn't come back for they're body or apologize either. Oh well not to big a deal. Attempt 2: I logged out the night before rebuffed after the failed attempt. So I was prepped with GotW, AB, along with my own Divine Spirit and Improved Power Word Fortitude. I made the attempt at about 5:45am hoping to avoid a repeat of the night before. Equipment that I brought that I don't normally carry. 27xOil of Immolation, 9xCrystal Charge, 5xEz-Thro Dynamite II I almost died once from being so intent on the peasants, Desparate Prayer saved my butt! The sixth wave was right next to the cave and I had just started to cure them and the quest ended in success. In total I only used about 6 Oils, 2 Dynamite, 2 Charges and 1 Major Mana. My Darkmoon Card: Blue Dragon card procc'd once. I had my hotbar setup as follows: 1: Abolish Disease 2: Renew (Rank 6) 3: Renew (Rank 9) 4: Cure Disease I was wearing about +210 healing. My basic strategy was to rush to a wave as soon as they came out of the cave. Any peasant that was purple got targeted and Abolish Disease dropped on them. Once noone had the purple glow then I'd drop a couple Renew9 on the ones near death and then Renew6 as needed. All while slowly walking backwards to the NPC I'd pop a Renew6 when it looked needed and dropped a Cure Disease if some got the green yuck. Whenever I'd see the next wave I'd rush up and repeat. I used the Oils and rushed into the fray when the skellies came and on the big rushes of them I used Charge/Dynamite...I highly recommend the Charges, they decimate the skellies fast! I think I lost maybe 2-3 peasants on this attempt Well, Long post, but since many more of our Allies and Guildmates will be doing this; I figured I'd put my thoughts into words in the hopes that this might be useful down the road for some of you. Many thanks to all those that offered advice and buffs! Special thanks to Lascivia for only having 20 points last night 'Resa - 60 Priest -

warrior is needed Written by Guest on 2005-12-19 22:55:56 have a warroir stand in the purple spot with thorns on and just throw e/z throw 2 dynamie at him or use immolation oil if needed. it took me 3 immoalation oil ( you may need more if they get pulled off the warrior) 4 EZ 2 throw dynamite 1 major mana pot 1 dark rune 2 mana pots would have woked allot better buffs/ aura's you should have arcane intelect, i just had a frined give me the 1h buff in IF MOTW Thorns a pally using retribution aura and optionaly a warlock for stamina buff and fire shield essence of pure flames would be an uber trinket to have for this but its not needed I only needed to heal myself 3 times the whole fight. Also dont be affraid to use a flash heal on them if there low but use a rank 3-5 they dont have much health so rank 6-7 is way overkill and just using up mana. Always focus on the ones that are glowing puple or green using abolish disease then immediatly put renwe after abolish disease. There will be some in the start that are diseased and some that werent diseased will become diseased as they walk allong. As soon as u see them all dissapear in a flash of grean get ready for the next wave as they already spawned. If you have a decent amount of + healing you can easily get away with lower rank renews essprcially for the once that have more then 1/2 hp. But if u have 2 mana pots and either a dark rune or night dragons breath you are fine using the rank 9 renew. i layed out my hotkeys 1) flash heal rank 6 2) abolish disease 3) renew rank 6 4) renew rank 9 i got it on my first try i was soo happy :) I think it was like 4-5 waves and i only lost 4. I got 22 int on it because i cant afford 55 healing or 30 spellpower atm |
Balance of Light and Shadow Written by Guest on 2005-12-15 17:28:47 I just did the Eye of Divinity quest (Balance of Light and Shadow) as a 26 disc/25 holy priest, with zero epics, and no more than 3 tier 0 set pieces. Second try. Roughly 3500 hitpoints and 5700 mana. Got close a few times but in the end it turned out ok. Roughly 15 Immolation pots, 1 major health potion and 1 major mana. I also used the Mechanical Yeti which turned out to be an invaluable help. Go go, Gadget Yeti! My only buff was my own PW F. In retrospect, remembering to use Inner Fire probably would've helped, but still, I pulled through. Like many others, I found that a one step down rank renew was sufficent to keep the peasants alive. No flash heals except on myself during a few critical parts. Lots of V-toggling as well as walking behind the peasants. Best of luck. |
Pincenez Written by Guest on 2005-12-14 21:26:40 Obtaining the splinter or Nordassil: You must have the eye of divinity eqipped Locating the quest: Cross the bridge into Eastern Plaguelands, turn left immediately, go over the hillocks, ride north along the river to terrorweb tunnel. Go through the tunnel, then bear left, walk along the ridge, and you will spot the NPC on a mound to the right. A smaller cave, in front of which the event begins, lies beyond her. Remember you can't see NPC without eye of divinity equipped. Preliminary preparations:This quest is easier if you are holy specced and have holy nova. You should carry at least 25 oil of immolation potions. This quest is easier if you recieve AI buff from mage before going, but not necessary. You should punch "V" on keyborad to see health bars of peasant targets. Hot keys should include decursive, lvl 9 renew, and holy nova if you have it. A mana potion and major health potion may be helpful. Procedure: After you receive the quest, move quickly to the mouth of the cave where peasants spawn. They spawn in 5 groups of 10. 1st wave; Peasants attacked by hunter skeles on hills around area. They will receive physical damage from this, but also, some will be diseased. Disease looks either green or blue aura. Blue disease is very bad and should be dispelled as quickly as possible. These peasants also walk faster. Dispel and then cast lvl 9 renew. Next targets are those with green disease. Dispel. Then renew peasants with health bars under 40%. Follow them as they walk away from cave. Do not overheal. In first wave try to lose fewer than 3 peasants, but dont get flustered if/when one dies. Second wave. As you get near NPC with first wave, glance back to see second wave of peasants. As soon as you see them go back to help them. On second wave, skeles will run to group and attack it with physical damage, this in addition to hunters on hills. Again, dispel disease first. Try to aggro the running skeles to yourself. If peasants aggro them they will stop to fight and get separated from the group. This is bad. At this point use holy nova and begin popping immolation pots. Also shield yourself. When the second wave reaches safety with you accompanying them, you will be attacked by skeles before you begin to run back to the third group. Do not fight them! If you do, you will be too far from third wave of peasants to heal them, and too many will die. Instead, shield yourself, take an oil of immolation potion, and get back as quickly as possible to the third wave. Once there, continue to do all you can to aggro the skeles, and use holy nova at that time if it is available. Make sure oil of immolation is on at all times here. In the final two waves, skeles may attack at several points in the walk, generally close to where the peasants spawn. Again, try to get them to fight you, not the peasants. keep an eye on your own health, and take a health pot if shield is not enough. Bottom line: Dont overheal. A peasant who is not diseased and who has more than 60% health at the start of the walk will probably make it. At the end of the walk NPC may also heal the group, which adds a margin of safety. Keep calm, and have fun!

Written by Guest on 2005-12-14 06:17:23 And one more comment to my post below. I didn't have any prophecy parts when doing this! I had mainly devout, spiritshroud leggings and other standard "blues". Hide of the wild was my only epic when doing this. I also had about 7k mana when I was buffed for this quest! So you don't need uber gear to make it! /Merenwen (Svea guild, Twillights hammer) |
I made it! Written by Guest on 2005-12-14 06:13:27 Yesterday i finally made the quest after my fourth try, the first two attempts wasn't serious at all, no buffs and so on, just to get a feel of it... I failed my third attempt because I ran out of mana and too many peasants died. The reason for this was a bad specc i think + I used a too high rank of renew (rank 7). I also followed the first wave too long which made alot of ppl in the second wave die. When attempting this the third time i was shadow specced, ofc you can make this quest if you are shadow but the problem was I hadn't specced fully into Mental Agility which means all my instant spells cost more. And that is a big problem here because you mainly use renew and abolish disease! I figured it would be more expensive to keep trying in shadow specc than just doing one respec to holy/disc and then making the quest on the first attempt! So... I specced 31/20/0. I specced full mental strength and mental agility + full improved inner focus. I then spececd meditation all the way down to divine spirit. And don't forget Inner Focus, it's a lifesaver. I did not specc holy nova, the oil of immolations does it's work so I believe you don't need holy nova. In holy make sure you specced improved renew and spiritual healing. I also wanted to try this heavy discipline build for a couple of weeks while playing MC thats also why I didnt specc a "useless" holy nova build. The quest was so much easier after doing this! My mana did not run out like before. This is exactly what I did. And I want to point out that I only used buffs and stuff that was easy to get from AH and so on. No whipped roots and so on! So for the lazy ppl like me this is a good way: Buffs: I got a 60 min buff from a druid in IF. I also bought the +25 int potion from AH. Thats all buffs i got! I also used fortiude and divine spirit on myself. Pots: Nothing fancy, only Major mana potions (I used 2 or 3 during the quest)! I also asked a warlock in my guild to give me 3 healthstones. And ofc oil of immolations (used 15), I didn't have any strat holy water! I then went to do the quest and i made it! Tips: I almost only used Renew (rank 6) and Abolish Disease. It's alot easier you don't really have time to use flash heals all the time. You can use a flash heal (rank 4) if someone is close to dying. Other than that only renew. Use 'V' to show healthbars and if someone gets a disease, turn them off with 'V' so you can easily target the green guys and abolish disease. When you see purple peasant dispell and renew them as fast as you can! Use oil of immolation as soon as you hear or see skeletons appearing. Also walk behind the peasant and get the skeletons in your back. This makes it easier to see the peasant healthbars. You can also try moving the camera to a "bird view" which also makes things easier. When the groups get close to the NPC turn around quickly to see if a new group has spawned. If they have, hurry back! Thats all i did and it worked. I also drank the Mana Potions as soon as I could and used the healthstones when my health got low. Between the stones cooldown I used Inner Focus + Greater Heal on myself. Which means you heal yourself for 2500+ for free! After that use healthstone again! Hope this info helps! /Merenwen (Svea guild, Twillights hammer) |
The EASY Way Written by Guest on 2005-12-13 13:35:03 I am a Shadow Spec Dwarf priest, with nice pvp gear, but poor pve gear, so that means I have a very small mana pool. I did this quest last night for my third time. And was successful. 1st try: I tried with a couple buffs, but didn't hit my Oils of immolation enough so I died. 2nd try: I got a few buffs and a pally in party. I didn't run back to next wave soon enough so I failed. 3rd try: I brought my pally friend and got him in party. I also found 2 other priest there so I invited them to party. I had the 2 other priests stand on the npc and not move. I had the pally stand in front of the cave opening with Retribution Aura on and not move. All of the priests accepted the quest. Once it began it was total cake because about 90% of the skeletons just aggroed the paladin and died from the aura. The paladin cannot see them but does take damage so he can just sit there and heal himself. No one other than myself moved or casted (other than pally healing himself only) so the cleaner never came. With this setup the quest if rather easy. I used 2x major mana pots and 4 oils of immolation. I had ai, motw, kings, and fort. The paladin could be substitued out for a druid, warrior, priest, or shaman with oils of immolation. |
Mage Assistance Written by Guest on 2005-12-13 10:37:27 My friend Mjolli (earthen ring) had tried this question numerous times and failed. The cleaner came once and she'd tried this a couple times with a priest friend helping. The pally buffs from 2 pally friends helped a bit too, but it wasn't until I offered to help that she found success. 2 Paladin Buffs, 1 Arcane Int - 1 priest at the edge of the mage spell blizzard's range. She did her thing and as a Mage I just watched from the hill where the NPC supposedly is (being a mage I have no idea what she was seeing). Whenever things got ugly and you can tell by what she was casting I would toss a blizzard around her and the skeletons supposedly would be hit by it and go down. She completed the quest first try. No oil of immolation and only 1 mana potion used. The mage spell blizzard apparently helped her alot. She said afterwards that when the fight was just about to go bad, Xetrov was there with his blizzard to save the day. xetroV - level 60 Steampowered Gnomish Archwizard (Earthen Ring) |
challenging but easy Written by Guest on 2005-12-13 06:43:13 i did this on my second attempt the key is 1.RENEW!!! 2.ABOLISH DISEASE these two spells will get u the staff:D i used 13 oil of immolations, priest buffs and +25 intellect potion. its fucking annoying when u fail becasue the reward is soo awesome. If u dont have at least 10 oil of immolations dont bother trying, be patient, get them (15/20 to be safe) and then try. i was very happy when i finally got the staff and now have+22 int on benedctiona and anathema. hope this helps (Gustov, bloodfeather) |
Written by Guest on 2005-12-12 03:26:40 Took me a few tries (wasn't removing poisons on failed attempts, priest is not my main :p ), used about 12 immolation potions (and thunderbrews boot flask!!), 2 major mana potions and a superior mana potion. I had mark of wild and AI buff.... I used "v" and it was confusing at parts when skeletons were mixed in but fear did the job. I also found it useful to have ctmod show how much hp and % hp and mana I had. I thought I was going to fail again but quest said complete so who cares? The first 2 waves of civilians caused me most problems, they just seemed to take more damage. |
Easy Written by Guest on 2005-12-11 20:02:13 I did this with Prayer of Fort, and AI, thats it, and oil of immolation. Easier as a holy priest with 8.3k mana. Just use your lower rank renews/flash heals. Its really easy. |
Quest difficulty is depended on your gea Written by Guest on 2005-12-11 19:10:30 its a lot tougher to do with blues took me 4 or 5 tries i have 2 purples, about 6k mana unbuff and 7k mana buff (without kings) the trick here is to chuck down mana pots ASAP demonic runes are lifesavers the hard part about the quest is no being able to heal the normal way "AKA" CT raid windows so pressing V and heal is a pain in the ass the guys u gotta heal moves so their health bar moves (very annoying x10) the skels zerg and confuses their health bar with the peas overall it just takes time to get use to, too bad the cooldown to do this quest is 2hours.. they should make it one hour since lotta people are capable to get the pair of eyes

Eye of Shadow Written by Guest on 2005-12-11 18:53:45 Is there another way to get the eye of shadow in winter spring ? |
SS and ress Written by Guest on 2005-12-09 10:50:06 Did this on my third try.. I had a SS when I did this quest, and died, so I just ressed and kept healing the peasants, and died again, and then a druid ressed me, and I could finish it, so ask a warlock and a druid to come with you :) used 2 mana pots and 1 healthstone. Died on my second try too, without a SS, but I didn't relese and it completed. Then the pally in my group got disconnected so he couldn't res me, so I had to relese, and then it failed, so make sure you have somone who can res you.

Joke? Written by Mordak on 2005-12-07 15:35:59 This quest was easy as hell. If you are a bit slow or just nervous as hell, then yes maybe all the items here and buffs will help, however, I went in with confidence and finished this quest on my first attempt. However, I didn't havnt Horde come "help me" either. I completed the quest with the following aids: Buffs: Arcane Intellect Mark of the Wild Thorns Fortitude Retribution Aura Wisdom?? (Dont remember) Inner Fire Items Used: Major Mana Potion (x2) Greater Defense Potion Oil of Immolation (x13) |
2nd try Written by Guest on 2005-12-07 02:38:04 did the quest on second try. first try got little bit surprised by first wave und 7-8 died just in wave 1 = failed. second try done without buffs, just used tons of oil of immolation (no holy nova). was getting close but did it. overall used 2 mana potions, 2 demonic runes and 12 oil of immolation. no water from stratholme (completely forgot, had 20 with me). mainly cured deasease and used renew and couple of times flash heal. jsut try to stay in the middle and get all skeletons to attack you and not the peasants, that's the key. |
Keep trying Written by Guest on 2005-12-06 19:23:52 I fail more than 10 times. Got gank by horde 3 times. Just want to let my fellow priest know it is possible to do it. Just keep trying. My mana pool is 6500. No buff. Use fear, nova and oil.Drink pots early. You just need to be in form. Don't be discourage. Keep trying every 2 hrs. |
Can other priests heal? Written by Guest on 2005-12-05 04:01:49 If you can party, and the rest of the priests not moving around, just standing next to the npc heal the peasants when they get near the end, will you fail the quest? Some people just says that you'll fail if anyone else kills the skeletons, so as long as no one but you attacks the skeletons it should be ok... Well, dunno, failed this quest twice already. |
PWN'ed Written by Guest on 2005-12-03 10:52:08 I completed the staff yesterday. I had met a few other priests trying to do the second part, so I explained that I would invite and do the event while they stood and watched, and then all should get the Splinter if I succeeded. After some convincing I got a green light and went ahead. Did the quest "hands down". TIP: As soon as the NPC casts Blessing of Nordrassil, double back and start on the new group comming out of the cave. The previous group should not need any healing any more. A group picture of the victorious priests. From the left: Skenes, Catsdk, my Mechanical Yeti (he killed skellies like crazy), Jujin (me) and Smigthy. All from EU-Ravencrest |
easy Written by Guest on 2005-12-02 18:18:30 Did this quest first try with fort/ai/motw.. used 15 oil of immo, and 1 major mana potion.. simple enough, just be on top of your shit. |
Virtual truce Written by Guest on 2005-12-01 20:43:16 I know the very thought makes most "hardcore" PvP'ers cringe, go "red is dead" and bang their hairy chests, but think about it: if you decide to PvP a priest trying to do this quest, you're only screwing up for yourself... I just failed the quest because some over-zealous alliance dick (a priest no less) decided to get a free kill from this strange creature who was running around waving his arms around in the air... Result, he got his kill, I failed the quest, we BOTH had to wait 2h for a repawn, and I'll do my best to kill him whenever I see him... Report these morons to the GMs and hope they get temporary lockouts like people get from messing with the demons for the hunter epic-quest. |
Written by Guest on 2005-12-01 11:17:24 Stupid quest. Nothing to do with ability to play a priest. |
Written by Guest on 2005-11-30 07:27:55 Some info to go on. After about 6 failed tries at the quest I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I've read all the post on this topic and many others along the way about the priest epic. After seeing other priest fail on my server I decided to respec to full holy and get holy nova. Let me just say this, if you're having problems with the quest save your self some time and gold on all of those potions and oils and just respec to holy and get holy nova. You will thank me. Also just a fyi, the quest can be shared, another priest and I did it at the same. The trick is have the other party member stand next to the quest npc and do not move. Hope this helps. |
Got mine today Written by Guest on 2005-11-28 08:04:47 3rd attempt, used 12 oil of immolation, 1 major health potion, 2 night dragon's breath, 2 whipper root, and was buffed with nightfin soup, rum tum tuber suprise, divine spirit, imp. PW:F, and a +25 int potion. First attempt was just to get a feel for it, and the second time I allowed the health bars (hotkey V) to confuse me, third time I switched the bars on and off, on for scanning quickly and easily, off so I could quickly target without the bars dancing around in an unpredictable fasion. Love riding around with it equipped, so many random people come up and inspect you :) |
Written by Guest on 2005-11-25 19:53:17 I had a party for this quest. I took a druid and a mage for buffs (MotW, Thorns, AI) and 2 palladins (BoK, BoW, Retribution Aura, Concentration Aura). Through this fight I used 9 oil of immolations, 3 major mana pots and a few NDBs. I got it done on the first go and only lost 2-3 peasants. It's not that hard, just remember to abolish disease asap and heal those at the lowest HP. Fear the skeleton warriors first, wait for them to come back to you then pop and oil of immolation. I was using max leve renew and flash heal so I was kinda overhealing which is why I used so many mana pots, but if you just use a lower level you shouldn't run out of mana or have to use so many potions. Good luck :) |
I got it too today Written by Guest on 2005-11-23 07:02:40 After 2 failed tries I got it too. First time I was with a paladin guildie and as soon as I accepted the quest and advanced a few steps. the Cleaner appeared and killed me ( I suspect the paladin moved a little bit, not sure). Second time the skeletons got me. The trick is, like everyone said before, Oil Of Immolation. The skellies hit for 60-70 and up to 140 crits. Comined with their number, you can go down pretty fast. To avoid that, !nulljust spam immolation. every 15 seconds use another one and you won't have any problems. I used 2 mana pots, desperate heal and barely made it in the end because my oil ran out :D But I got it completed. Haven't used anyone else , just my buffs, crystal spire and mana + health regen. Enjoy and good luck |

Written by Guest on 2005-11-21 21:47:20 Read the whole thing. Helps. To answer a few questions. I'm on a server with 50+ priests that have benediction/staff of dominance. It's a question of preference and dkp, really. So I have my eye of shadow, had it since my first Kazzak Kill, with the new patch I see two or more Eye of Shadow's on the AH daily. Even if they do sell for 750 G, they're still on the AH. AS per Kazzak, no one must die, no bunny wabbits, no hunter pets, etc. We have 20 manned him without incident. Get your eye of shadow, get your agent quest completed and join a raiding guild. It's the only way you will reliably get enough domo/kazzak kills to ensure that you get your epic staff. Hopefully with the expansion the staff will still be uber enough to last to 70. /agree with above, I would almost rather have a lesser +healing weapon with more mana regen per second, as the int/spirit/stam are just not that much better than other non class specific epics (SoD, even Glowing Brightwood...) Given the time it takes to raid with a 40 man guild. AS it is, Domo has been stingy, more leaves than Eyes by far. Ugh. I'm next in line tho, and we do MC in one day every 7 days, so it wont be long.

Chayla from Suramar THE ALL MiGHTY Written by Guest on 2005-11-21 13:33:52 Got my Benediction sunday morning. Did it with a Mage, Warlock and Druid and 1 other Priest who also needed the quest. Oil of Immolation is key to keep skellies off of you. Have Mage, Warlock and Druid start spamming AOE before the quest starts. The additional priest also stands on top of the NPC and heals/abolish disease as the peasants move toward the end point. I was SHAKING so hard when it completed I couldn't type. Only problem with Benediction? You can't hide very well in AB ;) I am glad it's done. It is challenging for sure. ~Chayla |
Kijael Written by Guest on 2005-11-20 14:31:39 Just got it today. We did it with lots of buffs (mage, druid, locks, pallys) plus we had two priests doing it at the same time. 1 Priest stood at the bottom of the hill next to the NPC, the other stood where the peasents spawn. Neither priest moved and you can't heal each other. Though you can both heal and cure disease of the peasents. The one nearest the cave handles all the aggro. A lot easier, didn't use 1 mana pot or go out of mana (nearly full at end). |
easyer than expected Written by Guest on 2005-11-17 09:43:55 i get the Eye of Divinity on my 3rd try without any help of others... the only thing i used was te oil of IMMOLATION!!! this ist the most important thing to beat this chalange... at all my only buff were [Improved Fortitude] and [Divine Spirit]... |
the cleaner Written by Guest on 2005-11-17 08:14:18 You have done smthing wrong m8.The cleaner is a lvl 63 elite demon that spawns and kills anyone that helps the priest doing the quest.Prpbably somone was trying the quest at this time and you by mistake helped him or tried to do something.FOR THOSE THAT dont know it if a horde player take the quest and you are an alliance and take the quest the same time just W8 and dont do nothing IF the other player complete the quest yopu get it completed also. |
try this Written by Guest on 2005-11-17 08:01:27 The q is really easy.i tried it unbuffed and make it i just used only 1 major mana potion and im a shadow priest.oil of immolation is a ''need'' for the quest but you can make it really easy if you have about 10-15 stratholme holy waters the first 2 ''waves'' are really easy the hard is the last 2 waves there are lots of undead skeletons just gather tham together using your shield and use the holy water to kill em all. Also you can put a friend to stand exactly where the npc is (your friend must be warrior or a paladin) the undeads sometimes are attacking your friend and you can be relax for a while 5-6 secs.HE MUST not attack and he must be plate dressed to get minimum dmg from the undeads. All the people that failing the quest are failing because of 1-2 dead peasants.these peasants usually are dying at the beggining because you returned too late from escorting the previous wave.try to find the ''spot'' to leave them and run fast back to the incoming wave.Al the others are really easy just renew dispel and some times flashheal them and you've done it. |
not mentioned below. Written by Guest on 2005-11-16 15:57:25 oh and btw, did it in one try.. ps. watch movies when ppl do the quest. gave myself a good picture about what was going to happend. |
easy Written by Guest on 2005-11-16 15:53:02 Just did this quest a hour ago. very easy. i was alone with motw / pwf / AI. used 13 immo pots. had +180 healing items on me when i started.(now i got 240 ^^) used 2 major healingpots. a good thing i didnt do was staying behind the peasants. sometimes when the skellys spawnd they messed up the healingbars. I used rank 4 flashheal and rank 6 renew. casted best rank renew on my self 3 times and sheilded me 4 times. lowest mana i ever had was 50% so that is no problem.. the first wave is the hardest the rest is cake with cream. |

1.8 quest changes Written by Guest on 2005-11-14 20:14:59 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The quest has been changed with Patch 1.8. The monsters do at least the double damage, the respawn has been drastically increased. I've asked around and before 1.8 most priests completed it after 1-3 tries, after 1.8 90% failed even after 10 tries. I've seen a pre-1.8 video of this quest and the difficulty went from normal to insane. The peasants get massive damage, you cannot use low lvl renew anymore, so you will run out of mana soon. This seems to be true. I never tried it before the patch, so I don't know for sure, but what I was experiencing seemed much more difficult than what the people in this thread were telling me it would be. Anyway, my respect to those who said they completed this quest after one or two tries if it hasn't been changed (made harder) since they did it. It's a good challenge and took me 4 or 5 tries, which was really annoying given the respawn rate and the desirability of the reward. The quest giver is hardly ever there unless you have the time to camp it, since lots of priests seem to be doing (and failing) this quest now that eye of shadow is more plentiful. how I did it (completely alone, without any other people's buffs): Started with buffs: flask +2000 mana (still had this buff after clearing MC (I was one of only 3 priests we had for that, which is why I used a flask. As someone else said, flask is not necessary - just remember to use mana pot early in the fight and you should be ok). mageblood potion (+mana regen) crystal spire (the fire shield one that does damage for ten minutes, I thought about using the spirit one, but chose fire shield one for the attempt where I succeeded) +25 int potion fort & inner fire used tipbuddy addon (shows the buffs/debuffs of your target in the tooltip) - helpful for targetting diseased peasants started quest, ran to cave entrance, cured sick guys asap and renewed (rank 6) peasants that got below ~80% pressed v a lot to distinguish diseased peasants from the others and to see which needed a heal, and also used bird's eye view quite a bit, so their health bars don't bounce around as much, but not always after first wave, hostile mobs spawned, I put on immolate and I used Barov Peasant caller, those guys killed all the first and some of the second waves of mobs. I had about ten trinkets to choose from, and thought "what the hell, let's try that one!" I considered using smoky's lighter or Essence of Eranikus for doing damage, but thought peasant caller would be more fun. I knew I saved all those dumb trinkets for a reason. during third wave, more hostile mobs came, I holy novaed them, when more came, I used holy water, I kept immolate up as often as I remembered (apparently often enough :-) - it's very important to keep that buff on yourself, and very easy to forget, but if you are keeping an eye on weakened soul for your shield, you can also remind yourself to use the oil of immolation since they are both on 15 second timers) at one point, holy nova and holy water were both on cooldown and I used fear... when they returned, with more spawns, the cooldown was up on one of my aoe attacks I should have used a mana pot at least once earlier in the fight, and got really close to not having enough mana at a couple points... however, since I had been using tubers and night dragon's breath to heal myself (I used those and shield and possibly a renew one time on myself) I had just enough mana to squeek through this quest. It might be better (more mana efficient) to use renew on yourelf instead of shield (and renew is on 15 second timer like oil of immolation, too!) I didn't use flash heal; I used as little mana as possible to heal myself since there are other ways to heal myself, but not other ways to heal those I was protecting. If you don't kill the mobs immediately, you will have to heal yourself, which wastes time and mana, so try to kill them immediately. the final wave of peasants was about twice as big as all the other waves and so was the final spawn of mobs... I killed about 9 mobs with holy nova and three seconds later there were just as many.. I was just about out of mana and thinking "oh no too many peasants are going to die" and luckily I noticed that holy water was usable and it killed all those mobs, I cured 8 or so guys while I watched the horde of peasants wandering towards the destination when it finally said completed... I then ran over and got the third item needed to make benediction, then got a summon to org and got the eye of shadow and made benediction and can't wait to try it out in BWL tomorrow night! anyway it was a really fun and challenging quest, I wish I would/could have copied my guy to a test server before-hand so I could do it again - oh well hind sight is 20/20 |
The quest is not bad at all Written by Guest on 2005-11-15 15:33:11 After reading this page, I tried the quest and was successful on my first attempt. I used one major mana potion and one greater (the one that is like 700-900 mana). Other than that, I just had priest buffs (and divine spirit). Don't fret over this, it is not nearly as bad as you think. |
Confused Written by Guest on 2005-11-15 13:30:28 In attempting the quest for the Splinter of Nordrasil, i was on the last wave, and a massive doomlord came out and killed me in 1 hit, he was called "The Cleaner" anyone know why he came? |

harder after patch 1.8? i disagree Written by tristan on 2005-11-15 04:46:45 i have got my benedicion/anathema after 1.8, and it was first try. Just read a lot about the quest, get the needed items and ...voila you just need oil of immolation and major mana pots. Any other thing isnt really needed |
Written by Guest on 2005-11-14 23:00:20 I just completed it by self with 1 mana pot and 1 demonic rune no peasants died either but the spawn rate on the melee is insane almost died at end but poped heal pot FTW |

awesome quest Written by Guest on 2005-11-09 09:39:33 Got it on 2nd try after trying once unbuffed for shits n giggles. got int/motw in Ironforge and went solo with * 50 int buff from blasted lands * thorns from un goro crystals * fortitude * inner fire * divine spirit the fight was fairly simple at the beginning as described here, but got more chaotic later on. still i managed to complete it without much problems thanks to: MECHANICAL YETI!!! - if you still have this, omg he will solo the quest for you. this is the consumables i used: 10x oil of immolation 1x stratholme holy water (in the end when i got zerged, they died instantly) 2x crystal charge from un goro (instakill skellies 1 min cooldown) 2x major mana potion spells used: flash heal renew abolish disease (flash heal and renew one rank lower than max) Overall a entertaining quest, i wish i could do it again just for the challenge :P have fun!

Outside buffs? Useless. Written by Guest on 2005-11-07 13:01:56 I just have to say, I've seen some videos of people using two complete rows of buffs to complete this quest. Some even purchased flasks of distilled wisdom (+2000 mana for a period of 2 hours), which go for around 60g on my server (Bleeding Hollow). You DO NOT need all this crap to complete the quest. Here's what I used to complete the quest this morning: -Divine spirit -Fortitude (Improved) -Inner fire (Improved) That's it for buffs. I had NO AI, mark, blessings, flasks and any other consumable buff you can think of. Here are the items I used for the duration of the fight: -2 *greater* mana potions (+700-900 mana) -12 oil of immolation In my opinion, the key to this fight is (and was for me) spirit. YES spirit is a gimped stat when you cast continuously, but in this case, you can EASILY use it in your favor to regain lot of mana. I had 6974 total mana for the quest, and Im not that much decked out (4/8 prophecy). Keep your cool for the quest, and try your best. Don't stress yourself if you fail, and if you do, then you won't need to cry because you just spent 80g on flasks/major mana pots/various buff pots. Good luck! Elaurah@Bleeding Hollow |
Written by Guest on 2005-11-06 17:07:03 First try. 12 Immolation Potions, 1 Major Mana, Health Stone 2 Paladins in my party, no raid buffs. Piss easy. /yawn |
Written by Guest on 2005-11-05 22:50:25 Took me two tries... Buffs: Fort, AI, GOTW, Devine Spirit, health stone Tips: - use only renew (8) and abolish disease, flash heal is a waste of time & mana - watch them for the disease, the best indicator is the glow they get around them, abolish it right away, don't get hung up watching health bars for too long, scan the peasents for the disease after every few casts - if there's more than 2 or 3 skeletons beating on you, cast renew on yourself - oil of immolation is a must, around 15 per attempt - I think I used two mana pots, probably didn't need either - keep inner focus up, the fight isn't long, you should only have to cast it once in combat - walk BEHIND the peasents, the skeletons spawn behind them, you want to be between them, that way they come right at you, and their health bars don't get mixed up with the peasants - when they reach the quest NPC, do one final round of abolish, renew the low ones, and head back for the next wave, the ones you left will make it - the NPC blesses you with some health & mana after each wave - don't get flustered...abolish, renew, oil, renew yourself. that's all you have to do. - be confident, remember you killed Majordomo to get here. now all you have to do is renew a few peasants :grin |

undead priest Written by Guest on 2005-10-27 12:00:03 in the form list i only saw how you have to use all teh alliance buffs to do the quest easily. what buff can you use when you are horde if you don't have your leet pally buffs. |
Start the quest with 5 priests? Written by Guest on 2005-10-27 07:07:52 So, it is possible to start the quest with 4 other priests having the same quest? |
Another trick Written by Guest on 2005-10-27 05:46:25 I finally got my staff last night on my 6th try. On my 5th try I only had a warlock with me. I had him Soulstone me. I died during the 4th wave of peasants. I figured it'd be over, the quest fails when you die.. Well I immediatly hit use soulstone and continued the quest. I was so close I could taste it. But 15 died before 50 lived and I failed for the 5th time.. On the 6th time I finally took a full group with me for benefits. Lock (bloodpact, healthstone, soulstone) Pally 1 (retribution aura, blessing of light) Pally 2 (devotion aura, blessing of wisdom) Pally 3 (blessing of kings) Druid (gotw, thorns) Priest (divine spirit) (obviously they weren't all in the party. Some buffed me right before accepting the quest) It would have been nice to get int from a mage but I took off from IF without thinking about it.. Luckily someone had a greater int potion. During the battle I used a ton of immolation pots.. They are the key to this fight unless you are specc'd holy up to holy nova.. I'm not... 26/25 Keep yourself shielded and keep the immolation pots going. Get the diseases off first and you'll do fine.. |
Written by Tristan on 2005-10-26 03:44:17 Quest can be done grouped even after 1.8 patch. This is the prove: [IMG]http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/8017/wowscrnshot1026051228337bm.th.jpg[/IMG] I even used the Admiral's Hat to give Bubblan (he did the quest since his mana pool was larger) a bit more stamina. |
part member healing? Written by Guest on 2005-10-25 09:08:03 can a party member standing on the rock w/o moving heal you while you do the quest? does that fail the quest immediately?

Shackle? Written by Guest on 2005-10-25 06:09:54 Does it matter if you can shackle? You can only shackle one enemy at a time anyway, so it wouldn't make that much of a difference. And since you can't kill the archers apparently, I doubt they can be shackled. |
What you _need_ to completet this quest. Written by Guest on 2005-10-24 23:11:44 I finished the quest this morning after a few unlucky tries. What you need: Oil of immolation. nullnullnull - firebloom (burning stepps) nullnullnull - goldthorn (stranglethorn) nullnullnull - This is a extremly importand potion if you want to complete the quest. I didn't use any Stratholme Holy Waters, they have a nasty cooldown and in order to obtain em you need to play stratholme :/ If you have a few bottles on the bank, sure use them. They will sweep an entire wave of skellies in one use. Major Mana Potion. nullnullnull - Not much to say, you need it. If you dont have it you will OOM. Crystal Spire. (~) nullnullnull- Un'goro power-crystal buff. Gives you a nice dmg-shield. Something to collect while waiting for that 2h cooldown. Buffs:nullnullnull Motw and Arcane Intellect. And of course your own buffs. About the area. nullnullnull Since the last patch everyone seems too have the EoS. This means you will probably not be alone trying to finish this quest. Killing other priests during their quest-run is TOTALLY GRIEF. They fail the quest, so what? The questgiver will despawn (2h), if you let him finish and complete the npc will not despawn.. You still have the other priest in que for the quest, and you can bet he will try to ruin your quest for you. As I said earlier, the despawn is 2 hours. This means that when you see someone failing or just "/shout F*CK", you will set that alarm-clock on 1h 50min and be sure to be there for the respawn. Most priests dont seem to bring mats for two runs. Buffs:nullnullnull Hotkey up flash heal, renew and abolish disease. Don't use the latest ranks on the spells, just costs extra mana and overheals the pesants. Also bind the HP Plate toggel to a key (Main menu > Hotkeys > Targeting options >). It can be a bitch targeting the diseased pesants with HP-plates all over your screen, so it's nice being able to bring em down just quick, cure disease and back up. The Quest. nullnullnull Buff up, accept the quest, run towards the cave, cure the purple peasants. Flash heal mobs that are under 50% hp, renew mobs that got 75% and be quick to notice when someone gets diseased. Be sure to turn around and welcome the next wave of pesants, pop a immolation-pot and see the skellies fall apart :P (don't be cheap when it comes to Oils, you need the skellies dead asap). Do all this and you will complete the quest, perhaps not on the first try, but you completed it and you did it alone. // Antep - stormscale |
problems with the Splinter of Nordrassil Written by Tristan on 2005-10-24 18:45:39 if you don't see the NPC that gives the quest, and once you enter the cave and pass it, you are atacked by skeletons, it means that someone else has recently tried and failed the quest. Just log out and try later if you don't see the NPC When i tried it, the key is using Oil of Immolation (3 every minute more or less, and the fight lasts for 4-5 minutes, so it makes like 15 oils), abolish disease, a lower rank of renew (more mana saved), inner fire, and using mana pots as soon as you are 75% mana so you can use a second pot. My buffs were just: Fortitude Divine Spirit Inner Fire (improved) and potions with life regeneration (cheap at the auction house). |

Undead Stratholme Holy Water? Written by Guest on 2005-10-24 00:19:58 How well does the water from UD Strat work for this? I've saved up 7 spare waters just because I've heard it's like a substitute for Oil of Immolation... Cant wait to try this... But I'm probably farther away than I think. Maybe I'll get lucky on Eye of Shadow soon... =P All I know is that ever since I first saw Anathema/Benediction, I've drooled over it's greatness. And I must have it. |

Quest Failed Written by Guest on 2005-10-19 06:11:40 Since allot of people r getting the eye of shadow with the new patch, u get people camping the npc all the time. If you are lucky enough to be the first to start the q make sure u complete the quest before someone else starts it. I did it, completed the quest flawless - then some other noob started and failed. Now my quest is failed since i didnt complete right after. So bring some friends to keep alliance away or tell other priests to wait untill our finished. Gl |
Written by Guest on 2005-10-18 16:00:43 I did it today, got the +50 int buff from blasted lands, thorns, motw, ab, pof. Enchant Written by Guest on 2005-10-17 07:25:30 I have a question. At the moment I have +55 healing on my staff, and with the new 1.8 patch I can transform it and keep enchant. Is it possible to have a different enchant on each Ben/Ana? For eg. +55 healing on Benediction, and +22int on Anathema |
benediction Written by Guest on 2005-10-16 09:46:02 How the quest start ? is it to kill lord kazzak for eye of shadow or farm for it in winterspring and then to go to MC and kill majordomo and get the eye of divinity, and then use the trinkets and go to Ep and you se the NPC and then start to hela the peasents ? |
Confirmation on 2 priests Written by Guest on 2005-10-16 03:27:30 I got my benediction on 10/15/05... Here are a few tips... YES, MORE THAN ONE PRIEST CAN GET THIS QUEST DONE AT THE SAME TIME...In my run, we had one priest do the actual event and I grouped with him but stayed a couple little hills down from the npc.. I got the 'so and so is starting the quest, woudl you like to as well'... we both got the staff and turned it into benediction... so it IS CONFIRMED YOU CAN DO IT WITH MULTIPLE PRIESTS...what i suggest is the following... get your guildmates to help you.. grab a warlock, druid, and mage and have them cast AOE spells continuously starting from before you even accept the quest..as long as they stay on the hills, dont run down, and are not in your group, their AOE's will killl the skeletons and you dont have to worry about oil of immolation or holy nova... makes this quest A LOT easier.. i can explain in further detail if need be... ./t Boost on illidan server, horde side |

FROM ULDUM SERVER. I FINISHED IT FIRST T Written by Guest on 2005-10-10 18:15:59 Yah, after reading all the post up there, I was pretty scared to attempt the quest. However, I was able to finish it 1 shot. Mana wasn't the problem for me because I had bunch of regenration gears +full prophecy set. Skeltons hit kidna hard at some point, but as other post mentioned, oil of immolution takes cares of it. Just pop oil of immolution whn skeltons pop, and use health stone for healing. personally, I didn't even use mana pot, I think this quest was very easy. This quest wil be hard for those individuals who does not habit of dispelling. |
Aliki - Exodia - Skullcrusher Written by Guest on 2005-10-10 16:14:38 I can confirm, the quest can be done in pairs. However, the cleaner will still spawn if the priest who did not initiate teh quest gets too close to the cave entrance. |
What an exciting Quest!! Written by Guest on 2005-10-04 17:18:52 Sta buff, spirit buff, nightfin soup, armor scroll, and Crystal Spire (aura that does damage to attackers). one mana pot, one health, and one renew on myself kept me very healthy throughout the entire fight. I got mine on the third try, what i was doing wrong the first two times was not using enough oils. You keep this aoe up and you dont even have to look at your health. Basicly i used 4 oil of immolation every minute, for a total of 20. Pressing V to show health bars, after you cure most of the diseases, was very helpful. Never used flash heal, just renew and abolish disease. Most are right, the oils are what does the trick, then you can just concentrate on healing. Go overboard on the Oils, you can never use too much!! : ) Good luck!

Easiest way to beat it Written by Guest on 2005-10-04 10:42:22 I already had the EoS. I obtained the EoD this past Saturday (10/01/2005) and finally got a chance at the quest the following day. Be warned, if another priest, undead or alliance, fails the quest, you have a 2hr wait for the quest to repop. I kept missing the quest because both an alliance and an undead priest were failing ad nausem, so you may want to camp your toon there and check in every 30min to try and gauge the respawn and hopefully get a whack at it.This is what I eventually had to do to try to get my chance at it.I would play an alt and every 30 min I would log in and check. Some tips: 1. Holy Nova / Oil of Immolation Holy Nova + Oil of Immolation makes this fight insanely easy. All you need is rank 1 Holy Nova and it will kill every skelly within range immediately. Keep an Oil of Immolation in your system at all times. As soon as you use one, pop another so you're ready for the next wave when Holy Nova is on cool down. Make sure to bring 20-30 with you just in case, albeit you will probably not use nearly this many, especially if you use Holy Nova. 2. Walk among the peasants It is easier to walk among them to easier identify the dieseased ones, as the Health Bars can and will shift and move as the peasants walk and move among themselves making it sometimes hard to target via bars. This threw me completely off the first time and caused me to fail because you would go to target a health bar and it would shift and move away. Walking among them keeps them more steady and allows you to manually target the peasant instead of the bar if you need to.I actually targetted the Peasant 90% of the time directly. 3. Diseases No matter what, cure diseases first, period, then worry about using Renew. Failing to make diseases a priority will greatly increase the chances of you failing 3. Renew, Abolish Disease, Flash heal These really are the only tools you will use, and you do NOT need to use flash heal on the peasants. It is a waste of time. Use a 1-2 lower ranked Renew to save mana, as by this time you hopefully have +healing gear to offset.Pop a renew on yourself continually and keep Desperate Prayer at the ready. If you keep a timed renew on yourself + Desperate Prayer towards the end, you won't need flash heal most likely. This entire encounter can be beaten with instant spells.Relying on flash heal = a waste of 1.5 seconds (1.4 for me) and that can make a huge difference. 4. Fear Using fear will allow you to gain time to heal yourself (if needed), cure and renew more peasants, and will also allow more non-feared skeletons to spawn so you can amass a much larger group to kill via Holy Nova to maximize it's use, as it has a 30 second cool down. Another strat, which I used, is to shield yourself to let them build up in #'s as you continue to abolish diseases and toss out renews, and then use Holy Nova to take out an appreciable mass of the Skeletons. 5. Buffs You don't need any outside help (lock/pally) to come with you. I did the quest solo using Fortitude, and 1x elixir of sages and 1x elixir of intellect, and that was it. I used 2x major mana, even though in hindsight I could have only used one, but it never hurts to be sure with a 2hr cooldown on the quest. Good luck! Ascention 60 Priest Suramar

Written by Guest on 2005-10-04 00:22:30 Thank you for this great guide! It really helped a lot to know how to deal with the quest to obtain the Splinter of Nordrassil before I started it. I did it on my second try. Other than my own buffs I used Oil of Immolation, Un'Goro Crystals with damage aura, Un'Goro Crystals with area damage, Mana Potions, Whipper Root Tubers and Nightdragon. The problem for me wasn't health or mana but keeping those peasants alive. Be sure to cure their disease quickly! In the hurry to heal everybody I cured the ones who spawned diseased but forgot to help those who got the plague later. Also Renew worked much better for me than Flash Heals. Many peasants are damaged by the skeleton archers at the same time, so the 1.5 seconds you save by using an instant cast make a real difference. I was totally lucky, because Kazzak spawned the same night and friends talked the raid leader into allowing me to join. I won the roll on the Eye of Shadows and now have Benediction. Yay! Good luck all of you guys! |

2 ShadowPriests Did this Together Written by Guest on 2005-09-29 05:59:00 HI, not sure if its a bug or not. But I accompanied another guild priest to watch him do his. We both had our EoD equipped and I stood two hills down from the quest NPC to watch him. As he started the quest, I got one of those popups saying "SoandSo is starting the quest, do you want to start to?"I hit yes, but becasue we still wernt sure of more than one person being able to do this, I still stayed back 2 hills down, and watched, and ofc didnt move a muscle. Well my friend did great, got around 70% complete, but didnt notice his hp dwindling and subsequently died. Thinking there was nothing else to do, and noticing that the NPC didnt vanish, I ran up and with no buffs on and my hotbar screwed (it was ready for the friend to run it on me) I saved what I could from the last few groups. Well, all of a sudden, with his corpse at my feet no doubt watching me, we BOTH got a COMPLETED. Sooo I have a tendency to think that the Devs intended priests to do this as a group. However, doing this in a tag team fashion is probably safer till someone else has time to confirm this. |
Wow, I'm surpised Written by Guest on 2005-09-28 23:01:31 At all the trouble some of you went through for the Splinter. I did it first try, 12 oils, mark/thorns/fort and that was it. Been farming that eye of shadow on and off for 6 weeks now though >_ |

Curiousity Written by Guest on 2005-09-26 13:50:39 What i'm curious to know is how the average player is supposed to figure this out? At least, when it comes to locating Hydraxis anyway. Is there some quest chain that i missed, that points you in his direction [[Undead Priest]]? Or did someone happen across him by mere fluke, and then word spread about his existence? |

Written by Guest on 2005-09-22 08:32:50 quest is easy doable, did it with 10-15 oil of immolation, selfbuffs and 2 mana potions. if you are a disc/holy priest it should not be a problem. needed 2 trys, in the first one i got no oil^^ |
Mage Help Written by Guest on 2005-09-21 14:34:07 Well.. u can easilly do this quest without the oil.. just ask a guild m8 (mage) to come, and when the melee skels spawns ask him to do blizzard at your position. the skels die instantly. easy...! btw.. the mage cant move or the quest will fail. |
Easy Quest Written by Guest on 2005-09-19 08:33:23 I got Eye of Divinity on Thursday, quest done on Friday, then farmed for Eye of Shadow and obtained it Saturday morning. I'm here to give tips/summaries for you guys who are struggling or will soon do the quest. Quest: I finished this first try. Despite how people say this quest is hard and all, if you do enough research and know what to expect, it is NOT that hard. Make sure you bring at least 15 oils of immolation, 2 major mana potions... and maybe pre-MotW, AI, and Divine Spirit buffs (I got Headmaster Charge's buff also from my friend). That's all it takes. Like some have suggested, KNOW HOW OIL OF IMMOLATION WORKS. It will be your best friend for the quest. I notice the only two spells I REALLY need are renew + abolish disease. I hit "V" and left it on for 100% of the duration on the first 2-3 mins, and later I realized that it was a big mistake since I cannot properly abolish disease on the right NPC. Last half of the fight I turn it on only occasionally to see if anyone need renew or immediate flash heal. Click "V", pop renews, turn it off and abolish disease will suffice. Keep in mind that Injured and Plauged will be the ones that will get diseased. Get disease off Plagued asap! Why renew + abolish disease instead of Flash Heal + Cure Disease? They're instant, over-time spells, which means you will have more time to sit around dealing with skellies while 5 secs rule kicks in. If you keep on using flash heal, you will run out of mana for sure, unless you get load of regen bonus from +x mana/5 sec items. As soon as you are low on mana, pop your first Major Mana Potion. DO NOT WAIT until you're out of mana to use potion. The fight will last about 5 minutes, so if you use it timely your cooldown will allow you to use 2 major mana potions. I didn't have problem with mana too much at all. I hope this tips help. Eye of Shadow Definitely the hardest piece to get. On Friday when I logged on, I missed Kazzak by 5 minutes. Kazzak is an outside-of-instance boss that spawns only every 3-5 days, and usually the top on the farm list on top guilds. So... don't expect much. You have to pray that: 1) You log on immediately to few hours after Kazzak spawns. 2) Someone will invite you to Kazzak group. 3) You will win against other priests in the raid group. With that said, I kinda gave up and began my supposively 20-40 hours farming. Luckily, I have 3-5 people with me all the time. Having warlock helps, too. But for those who decide to solo the mobs as mage/hunter/warlock, I'd suggest to beg your friend/guildmate to come with you instead. 3 minutes each mob + downtime vs. 50 secs each mob... you pick. I did it easily with myself, rogue, and mage. For Slayer, let mage open with frostbolt and do pure DPS DPS DPS, while rogue DOES NOT use finishing move and only use stunlock (the point is the kite the mobs to mage, so rogue has to try to slow Slayer down as much as possible without out-damage and steal aggro.) Same thing goes to Initiate, but she's a lot easier to take down. Let mage have Mage Armor up and make sure you put Shadow Protection on all your party members. As far as I know, the mobs that drop Eye of Shadow are 60 ELITES (NOT 59) Initiates and Slayers. I still kill 59's anyway, or else 60s would never spawn. All you can do is to kill 60 elite mobs, and hope the corpse glitters even when it's not your turn. It dropped for me after about 6 hours. Obviously I screamed. Good luck guys!

Done it, got the staff Written by Guest on 2005-09-17 08:25:05 Used EZ-Thro Dynamite II, Oil of Immolation and a lot of potion buffs. Didn't have anybody else there so no mage/pally/druid buffs. Main thing is to be fast, cure disease and renew all the time. Use Major Mana pots every time the timer is up. Morthandeus, Soul of the Fire Shadowsong (EU) |
Woot! Written by Guest on 2005-09-15 15:13:51 Well after failing the quest 4 times I finally finished it on the 5th try. In totaly I prob used 50 oil of immolations. Now all I need is the eye of shadow, which is nearly impossible to get on the horde side on my server (Windrunner). Alliance always has Kazzak camped and will not allow any Horde to kill him. Hopefull I will be able to get one soon. Thx to everyones notes on this site, without it I would of never beaten the quest. :grin |

Finally Completed Written by Guest on 2005-09-08 09:01:32 I finally finished this quest last night after the 6th or 7th time, although 2 of the times I don't count since someone ran through and caused the demon to spawn and kill me. I did this with no outside help at all, not even buff wise. This is what I used to do it: Improved Fortitude Divine Spirit Rum Tum Tuber Nightfin Soup Thorn Aura from the crystal quest in Un'Goro Oil of Immolation (HAVE TO HAVE!) This is what I learned from all the attempts I did: As Mentioned before, getting the disease off the peasants is a MUST! This is what caused me to fail a couple times. The biggest probelm I had wasn't keeping my mana up, my mana never seemed to be an issue, It was keeping my health up. I found that walking along with the peasants helped alot as far as curing them and healing. Staying calm is also a key, last night I just concentrated on healing the peasants and not freaking out like I have before. I was suprised when the peasants disappeared and it said I completed it, I didn't realize I had gone through that many peasants so far. Well I hope this helps a little. Good Luck All! |

Written by Guest on 2005-09-07 13:56:45 whenever you can position the camera so it's giving you a bird's eye view. It makes the health bars not jump around nearly as much. From my experience I noticed that not going anywhere beyond the NPC gave me enough time to run back and decurse the purple ones then proceed on. GL |
Quest is tough IMO Written by Guest on 2005-09-06 22:07:56 I hear and read a lot about how easy this quest is for people ( the balance of light and shadow part). I must say I am extremely challenged by it. I don't know what I'm doing differently but I failed 8 times so far. I have a feeling I am not alone in this. I am easily considered by everyone that groups with me an above average priest at the minimum. My biggest problem seems to be targeting the peasants to keep them healthy.I have also had a lot of trouble with Following them too far and ran back up towards the tunnel only to see 3 or 4 peasants die at my feet. Yes, I used V. I haven't tried switching out of the V mode to target diseased peasants faster. That's not a bad idea. In any event I will keep trying. My last attemp was super close, I was somewhere in between 40-49 when I failed. The two hour thing kind of sucks but I'll live with it. I just don't like anything that is EQ like (camping spawns, etc..). I wanted to post just so others reading this wouldn't feel alone if they were having troubles. It doesn't mean you're a bad priest :) BTW this quest totally reminds me of First Aid x 100000. Lol.

re: the cleaner Written by Guest on 2005-08-31 16:08:55 YES he can restart the q ... but this has a 2h cooldown and needs a LOT of preparation (farm buffs in the blasted lands, dire maul, ...) the other thing is that NOBODY (weather alliance or horde) may intervene ACTIVLY in this q... thats the reason why he failed... PS: sorry 4 my bad english.. I'm german ^^ |

Where? Written by Guest on 2005-08-30 23:36:51 When I have all the stuff where do i go then? Where does the quest start? NPC name? Location? |
Not as easy as everyone says lol Written by natriana on 2005-08-30 15:14:12 Well..I do have to say this is not as easy as some people led me to believe. I failed the first two times, and when I actually completed it successfully the third time I was in such a daze I just sat there for about 10 minutes staring at it :p The am mostly discipline talent spec'd..so my heals probably weren't as efficient as other peoples are hehe. I found the biggest problem I had the first two times was not getting to the disease in time and people dying. I'm not sure, but I think the arrows the skeletons shoot at the peasants cast some kind of disease on them..so if you abolish disease at the beginning they can still get diseased later on. I watched a video that did help me because I saw she moved with the group until the got past the range of the archers and the skeleton warriors. Standing still the first time caused me to fail..moving along with the group was very helpful for me. Also, by moving the view to an overhead one I was able to pick out the peasants who were diseased much faster. When the skeletons are there especially, the names get really jumbled and they will move around faster than you can follow them with your mouse. Moving to an overhead view will keep them from doing this. For anyone who was not aware, the potions from badlands DO NOT STACK TOGETHER. There is a 1 hour cooldown on them, so you can only have the +50 int, OR +50 spi OR +50 sta. I also had a warlock create several healthstones for me which I used. (You can have different ranks in your inventory).I brought 6 major mana potions and used 3. I had a supply of Demonic Runes and Whipper Root Tubers on hand and used one of each. I also had a supply of bandages just in case I ran out of mana and needed to heal, but right at the end when I ran out of mana I succeeded in the quest. The buffs I had were: Power Word: Shield Divine Spirit Arcane Intellect Mark of the Wild Blessing of Kings Druid Thorns (18 dmg to attackers) Retribution Aura (20 holy dmg to attackers) Gizzard Gum (+50 spirit potion from repeatable Badlands quest that stacks with Divine Spirit) Runn Tum Tuber Surprise (cooked food +10 int) Poached Sunscale Salmon (cooked food, +6 health every 5 secs) Nightfin Soup (cooked food, +8 mana every 5 secs) Monster Omelet (cooked food, well fed for +12 spirit, +12 stamina Elixir of the Mongoose (+25 agi, helped with dodging and armor) Elixir of Superior Defense (+450 armor) I used 14 Oils of Immolation, I brought 24 with me the last time to make sure I didn't run out. I just kept popping these as soon as I finished with a group so I wouldn't forget to use them. Having the Retribution aura, thorns and these oils made all the difference for sure. |
Written by Guest on 2005-08-27 10:31:54 Did the quest today on my 4th try Afterwards i have to say that this quest isnt as hard as i first asmued My buffs were: pf, motw, ai, ds I did only use renew rank 8 to heal them the key was the oil of immolatuion AND Holy Water from Stratholm, eben more than the oil. I waited for 2 waves of skellets to spawn (feared the first wave), shielded myself, waited until they were beating me an used the water. This gives you a lot of time to deal with the peasants. |

+22 Intellect Enchant or Others Written by Guest on 2005-08-20 17:45:39 Has there been any new information from Blizzard regarding enchanting this staff? Last I heard is if you enchant it and then change the form you lose the enchant. Are there plans to change this that we know of. Personally I would like to see us be able to enchant both sides seperatly. (ie. +Healing on Benediction and +Spell damage on Anathema) I would probably go with +22 intellect on both, but it would be nice to have the option. Please provide more info if possible, I have not been able to find anything. |

Not for those with a busy schedule. Written by Guest on 2005-08-16 16:47:21 This is one sweet item. During the first couple of waves it's not too bad, but towards the end it can get hectic with so many skeletons and peasants on the screen. Just remain focused and continually cure diseases and use renew on the peasants. I was able to complete this on my first try thanks to the information provided on the forums such as this one. Was considering respeccing to get holy nova if I failed my first attempt but luckily didn't have to. The only spells I used were abolish disease and renew rank 7. Be sure to always have inner fire up and use renew on yourself if your health starts dropping. The buffs I had were fortitude, AI, and MotW. Having the right consumables was key for me. I used 10 oil of immolations, 5 night dragons breath and a couple of EZ-throw dynamite II. In additon to those you could also use health/mana pots, demonic runes and whipper root tubers if needed. You gain a bit of health and mana after each wave of peasants are saved. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Written by Guest on 2005-08-07 18:32:34 Just done mine of the first attempt... oil of immolation ftw, my alt had loads of them anyways, so I just burned them up with no real care. Did find it got a bit confusing at the end with skell health bars, and peasent health bars, nice quest tho and glad to have my staff.... shame there is no regen on it, might miss that from the amberseal keeper, but omg the staff owns.... |

Completed the quest as a shadow priest Written by Guest on 2005-08-05 17:05:07 I just completed this quest as a shadow priest (19/0/32 build) and must say the Oil of Immolation is really the key to success, among with QUICK cure diseases. Healing the peasants isn't so important if you just cure all diseased/plagued peasants asap and get the skellys to aggro you. Using fear is great when the skellys attack the peasants. I had only normal buffs and even forgot to wear my weapon (which had about 14 stam and 30 int among other) and anyway completed it =). Any additional help isn't needed, and if you are holy/disc specced you propably make this even easier than i did. Also remember to use your +50 int potion, i also forgot it to my inverntory =). So, just cure diseases fast and use oil on skellys and that's it. |
Demon Drops Written by Guest on 2005-08-05 09:12:31 Yes, the Eye still drops off Demons. I and most people on my server go the Darkwhisper Gorge in the South of Winterspring. It took me 35-40 hours of farming. Two other guildies got lucky and got it in 8 and like 20 hours. Some people farm for 60. If you want to get the Eye this way, you need to be prepared to be harassing guildies constantly to go farm :) |

awesome quest ;) Written by Guest on 2005-08-04 09:17:58 finished the quest the other night on my first try. only had int, spirit, and stam buffs on. basically i hit 'v' to show npc's health, then used renew (rank max - 1) on the guys with health < 50% but > 20%, flash healed (max rank - 1) the ones with health > 20% , and of course got rid of the disease on the diseased ones. i used 2 major mana pots and 1 demonic rune. i wouldn't worry about healing all of them to full. just keep them > 30% and you'll save a ton of mana and not many will die. i only lost 1 in total (couldn't click on the stupid health bar fast enough, the peasants weave in and out of each other, making the health bars above their head shift all over the place). as for the undead, i used a total of 10 oil of immolation. if you have a high dps wand you can also wand them when a single or double come out, just to save your oils. they probably have a total of 100-120 hp. overall the quest is awesome. one of my favorite in the game so far. not too hard but just be mindful of your mana and health and you'll get it easily. now i just have to farm for my stupid eye of shadow cause killing kazzak on a high pop pvp server is ridiculous. and great guide by the way :) |
re: majordomo Written by Guest on 2005-08-04 09:04:43 once you use a vial of the water you can go back to the waterlords and get another. it takes a while so it's not really practical (unless you want to spend hours and hours in MC), but it can be done. if you are clearing to majordomo anyway it should be easy to get a lot of people with the quest, not just 1. |
Spawning Majordomo Solo Written by Guest on 2005-08-04 06:44:07 Regarding the statement: "After completing the quest you get a Vial which can be used douse one of the seven or eight flame traps in Molten Core. Technically, you only need one person to complete the quest, but it's easier with seven or eight people with one vial each." How does one do this with only one person? I imagine that the vial only works once and then disappears, otherwise you would not have recommended having eight people with vials. Do you have to run to Azshara for each one and be summoned back? Please elaborate on how this works. |

To add a word of caution... Written by Guest on 2005-08-03 11:18:45 Just so those who bring friends to give you auras or just watch Balance of Light and Shadow know, don't let any of your friends there craft while you attempt the quest. I had my paladin friend, not in my group, standing there watching and when she got bored, started making potions. This caused THE CLEANER (a level 63 elite demon) to spawn and punch me in the face. I fell down, and did not get back up. |

Got Eye Of Shadow for 15 min farming Written by Guest on 2005-08-01 05:29:41 I got my Eye of Shadow yesterday from 60 Elite Demon in Winterspring! Written by Guest on 2005-07-26 12:30:31 I did this quest alone, forgot to buff myself on the one successful attempt (haha...) so basically I had inner fire going at the start (and only the start, saved mana after that for healing), shadowguard (I'm a troll priest) and no outside help or buffs. Took three tries. I basically used the following objects: whipper root tubers, nightdragon's breath, 3 major mana potions, 10 oil of immolation. The following talents were handy: improved fear, inner focus The main focus is curing and healing. Flash heal was almost never used... renew was instant and did the job in most cases. I used renew on the peasants, as well as abolish disease. But I also followed the pack since these peasant groups get diseases even after they pass the middle point, and in my first two tries I think I lost a few by assuming they were safe and running to the cave to help the new bunch. Be careful with your own hp, spam oil of immolation and use FEAR on melee. By the way I don't have holy nova, and I have two points in fear cooldown in my talents... so you can do this without a respec if you lack nova. |
Written by Guest on 2005-07-26 11:40:45 Are they still thinking about putting the eye of divinity on another mob besides the MC? I dont like the idea that I gotta join a guild that can do a 40 man raid to MC. I dont mind having like a 5-15 man raid though. |

not difficult at all Written by Guest on 2005-07-24 10:24:06 i had oil of immolation and thorns. no +50 something drinks. no auras. i used renew (rank max-1) and flash heals if urgent (rank max-1). Oh and cure desease (rank 1) of course. Along with my oil of immolation (I used about 10) I used two stratholme holy waters and two major healing potions. that's it. And no I'm not exagerating. You can probably do it all alone. The druid's support was more of a psychological nature to me :grin |

Written by Guest on 2005-07-21 09:10:26 I did it last night. On my 2nd try. Onething to add tho, is you dont really need a group of pallies to go with u or anything. It can be done by yourself. I was orig. shadow-spec, but switched to holy/disc for this. It helped me out a lot. So consider it if you're shadow spec. But i still dont think u need to respec or need group to complete this quest. And by the way, the npc is hot!

Got It. Written by Guest on 2005-07-20 02:34:57 got quest first try, tricky yet easy. |
Written by Guest on 2005-07-19 11:14:28 I did this quest with no Oil of Immolation, no kings, no AI, no MoW. These buffs/items are to compensate for players with no skills. This quest was designed for a holy priest with quick, powerful heals. I am such a priest. With my cure disease hotkeyed (but no decursive type mod, and flashheal is always hotkeyed) I made short work of this quest. I have had Eye of Shadow since March, but Domo was too stingy to drop the Divinity until he got patched. The quest text was awesome, and I am the only person running through IF with a sparkly trail behind them. |

What do you mean? Written by Guest on 2005-07-14 19:12:03 I do not understand what you mean by: ".....you will have to be in the group that tags Kazzak in order to have a chance to loot it."? Do you mean a 40 man raid goes but then we will have to leave raid and I have to be in the group that he is tagged in? meaning his name is red and not grey? |
Written by Guest on 2005-07-11 20:51:03 finished the quest tongith, i used 3major mana pots, 15oils of imolation and nothing else, didnt even thought about refreshing innerfire after the quest started i only used renew rank 9 and abolish disease on the peasants and used fast heal two or three time on me and may be a renew or two too after i started the quest i ran near the peasants to see their bars and left the bar up for all the event, i then stayed here while they passed and runned after them some seconds later to keep seeing all their bars, large top view help i guess. i targeted the low life peasants used renew and abolish disease if needed on them, when they were near the npc i ran back to the cave and tryed to use abolish disease on the "black clouded" peasants i thought i wouldnt make it at first try and wanted to see how it would works first so i came to the npc without any other buff than the ones i could do, and i made it it was quite a surprise when i seen "balance of light of shadow (finished)" poping on the screen as i thought a lot of peasants died as i somehow misshandled my shorcuts at the beginning, i would be curious how much died at the end ;) |

not hard at all Written by Guest on 2005-07-05 09:52:34 The key for me was definetely the Oil of Immolation and Renew Rank 7. Using a lower rank with all my +healing gear on was plenty to keep the peasants up long enough for me to cure the ones that needed immediate attention, and cast flash heal (rank 6) if it was needed ( - was only needed 3 or 4 times). The moment I saw the skellies coming I hit off the Oil, and it was enough quick dmg that I didnt take too many hits from the skellies - shielding was almost enough for me the duration of the fight, as I only had to use 1 Major healing potion and cast 1 Renew on myself the whole time. Also, using a lower rank of heals is the best way to make your mana last thru the fight. The peasants have low hps, and the highest rank of renew and flash heal OVER heals them. I used "v" to target them for heals and cures, the only problem I had with that was the few seconds that the skellies were on me made it quite confusing. Just be quick about everything you do - most importantly with the Oil's if youre using them, I feel they were the key to my success. Buffs on me: Fortitude Inner Fire Blessing of Kings Retribution Aura Crystal Spire Crystal Force Blood Pact GL to you all, and remember, ITS EASY!

Written by Guest on 2005-07-02 18:26:06 you dont really need to do those quests as long Majordomo is summoned right? |
Easier to understand... Written by Guest on 2005-07-01 14:20:58 Just to make the below post easier to understand... Yes, a single person can use 8 vials to summon Major Domo, but since you can only hold one at a time, you would have to keep travelling back to Azshara to get each vial, after every boss kill, which would make the raid effectively take twice as long. When you start a Molten Core raid, if you manage to kill Lucifron (first boss), you will be saved to that instance, along with everyone present in the raid group. So, for the next 7 days, everytime you try to go into MC, you will be in the same instance each time. This means at most you can kill any boss in MC only once per week, you cannot join another raid, as you will still be saved into your own. So after 7 days, if you did not use all 8 vials you will have to start again. |
Written by Guest on 2005-07-01 12:57:13 "After completing the quest you get a Vial which can be used douse one of the seven or eight flame traps in Molten Core. Technically, you only need one person to complete the quest, but it's easier with seven or eight people with one vial each." Does this all have to be done on one run? does a reset means you have to restart the dousing? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Only between full resets. So say you clear up to shazzrah one night, you can clear magmadar, gahennes, garr, shazz's ruins that night and then come back to do sulfuron and golemagg and clear their ruins. Some are easier to get at than others, so if you run out of aqualquitessence in one run, you can catch most the next night. |

Helpful Hints Written by Guest on 2005-06-30 07:28:39 I just completed the quest last night 2nd try. Oil of Immolation is definately the key. I used 15 oil of immolation, 1 demonic rune, 2 health pots, and desperate prayer. I had the spirit buff from BL (didn't know they didn't stack so I was caught of guard by the 60 min cool down on the int one), +25 int pot, stam and spirit buffs. I tried to keep inner fire up as well. I also had some holy water on hand, but I never used it. The thing that made the difference in my first and second try was that I tried not to move with the group. I tried to stay in the middle area. I also never used flash heal, just abolish disease and renew. I also used the 'v' health bars, but only when I needed to watch health. It can get really annoying to try to click on a peasant to cleanse them with all the bars up, so hiding v to remove disease and then putting it back up to apply renew worked well. Something that isn't mentioned is that you receive a nice little mana/health boost after each wave makes it. IMHO, the most important thing is disease removal (esp the blue one). By staying in the middle area I could catch one wave of skeletons right as the peasants were making it to the end, and just before the next wave would spawn. This allowed me to cure disease almost immediately and put on a couple of renews. Important thing is not to panic. Oh btw, oil of immolation is 1 Firebloom, 1 Goldthorn, 1 Crystal Vial... I AH'd the herbs and got about 25 made for < 5g. Much cheaper than a respec and more reliable. Any buffs you get will be a little extra help, but out of the 3 priests in my guild that have done the quest now, we all did it solo with just our own buffs and immolation oil. I went and got the BL buffs while I was waiting for the quest giver to respawn. Now it's back to farming eye of shadow and keeping an eye on the kaz respawn. GL to everyone on the priest quest, it's alot of fun. |

The reason WHY the enchant is lost? it's because when you click the staff to summon the other form...esentially you are "Destroying" it in the item database and it is getting replaced with a new one. That is why the staff's durability goes back to 120/120 everytime you change it (no repair costs!) Until Blizzard finds some way to change this...we're kinda stuck once we get this staff. They really need to though..especially with the INSANE enchants comign out in teh patch...22 int, 20 spirit, or a nice +55 healing from the last patch. Please, feel free to visit my guild site and ask me ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS QUEST...i'll answer anything you guys need to know...(website linked in my signature) take care everyone Paladeus disc/holy priest Skullcrusher - Alliance |

Regarding Quest chain Written by Guest on 2005-06-25 02:44:20 Thanks for your reply in the matter, much appriciated Kind Regards HyG |
Quests Written by Guest on 2005-06-25 01:21:14 The quests stated in the article above are actually missing 1 or 2 in the quest line. You have to complete "The Molten Core" before you can move on to "Agent Of Hydraxis." |
Regarding the quest chain.. Written by Guest on 2005-06-24 20:44:53 Well i started of by doing these Poisoned Water Stormers and Rumblers Eye of the Emberseer but when i handed in the Eye of the Emberseer I did Not reccive this quest : Agent of Hyraxis Instead i got The Molten Core quest where im supposed 2 Kill these Molten Giant slain: Lava Surger slain: Ancient Core Hound slain: Firelord slain: Am im supposed 2 do this before i reccive the quest: Agent of Hyraxis ? Or am i supposed 2 grind elementals in silithus or Eastern Plague Lands until i get 50% between friendly 2 Honoured ? If anybody could help me out this would be most welcome Kind Regards HyG

Use Written by Guest on 2005-06-24 18:24:27 Erm, Anathema and Benediction are the names of the staff. It's in one form to begin with, then when you "use" it, the staff turns into the other form. It is essentially two weapons in one... Also, when you "use" it, the staff gets automatically repaired, but also loses any enchants that are currently cast on it. This is supposed to be fixed in patch 1.6. |

Use... Written by Guest on 2005-06-24 16:48:03 What does the use do???....I mean call forth wise. Does it sommon Anathema or Benediction to fight for you?? |
Shackle Undead Written by Guest on 2005-06-24 08:19:11 Yes, you are correct in saying that if you shackle a second target, the first one breaks. Just stick with the oil of immolation trick, seems to be the best method so far. |

Written by altf4 on 2005-06-23 20:52:05 iirc Shackle Undead only works on 1 target. eg, if u shackle another one. tha last one will break. |

Eye of Shadow Written by Guest on 2005-06-18 21:54:28 Can you loot the eye of shadow without having completed any other parts of the quest? |
Written by Guest on 2005-06-18 06:34:39 I got a question , did u used buffs or something . and stratholme holy water etc etc. i did this quest even with buffs and all , but i always save around 30-40 peasants. its impossible. i concentrate on the peasants like u said. but after a while there like 20 skeletons gangbanging me when my AoE is on cooldown. even when i used health stone and major hp potion. its still almost impossible to do this quest. give me more tactical info if its possible regards Windreapster |
