Re:Paladin Specs - 2006/01/09 21:15 In 1.8 I was Holy/Protection 29/22, in 1.9 I am 38/13.

Although technically the changes make our heals on average less efficient, they also make them bigger (especially flash heals), and that helps a lot. I also get Kings for buffing (Kings has become much less common now). .

The Holy tree is obvious. I was skeptical about the value of Holy Shock but in practice I like it. I use it where as a Priest I would slap on a PWS to stave off death, but with more discretion due to the cooldown.

In Protection the goals are shortening the cooldown on BOP, having Redoubt to increase my defense while healing as well as help solo, and having Blessing of Kings available. In addition, there are 2 points in improving Righteous Fury to help offtanking.

I heal mostly with Flash of LIght rank 6, with a big or bigger Holy LIght to deal with deep damage and smaller FOLs for maintenance heals or when mana is low. By proactively selecting the next patient before a heal is done, I can heal continuously to keep the group up and fighting.
