Healing/Damage Meters: What do they really mean? - 2006/02/08 22:04
My guild has started to fall in love with the damage and healing meters. From reading various posting from the website, I have come to the conclusion that the meters are nice but do have a darker side to them. I was trying to write an article about what the numbers really mean. What I really believe is that they can be fun to see who gets what damage and what heals, but it can come at a cost. The cost is teamwork and over nuking/AOE, poor agro management, and over heals. Additionally, it can errode teamwork by not capturing the other team things such as sheeping, shackling, sleeping, saping, removing of curses and disease, removing agro from tanks, and buffing.
Question: What is the name of the over healing charting mod?
Please use this topic post to share ideas (pro or con) about this topic.
I look foward to reading what others think,

Damage meters have become so much of a pain in our raids that they are banned from /say and /raid.
Honestly, I think they hurt the raid more by having people focus too much on where they are on the list then on their aggro & health.

From what I noticed, Paladins who have a very high amount of Healing Done, tend to almost never cleanse. I hate that.
And Priests who find out they're low on the list, will try to catch up, and try to heal the raid as much as they can, mostly ignoring the tanks.
Or just throw away useless Prayer of Healings, since they generate -alot- of healing done.
