BWL and shadow specced priests - 2006/02/02 08:38 The guild Im raiding with is having some heavy discussions about shadow specced priests, and raiding in genereal. Foremost its about going to BWL shadow specced. MC has posed no problems bringing 2 shadow priests in (out of 5) in some runs. So I wanted to ask those of you who know. Does anyone do it? Does it pose any probllems (I havent seen any at the first 2 bosses). Naturally the prists get the blame if we dont succeed, so thats why I really ned to know. And if you have done so yourself, what did you do to survive?

Re:BWL and shadow specced priests - 2006/02/07 07:23 I have no experience of playing or taking shadowpriests into BWL, what i can say is that it will be alot harder without meditation. But, its not a problem that is impossible to overcome.

My recommendation would be to spec Disc/Holy until you have nefarian on farmstatus, since you really wanna give your guild all the edge you can get when working your way through BWL.

Re:BWL and shadow specced priests - 2006/02/15 09:50 The two hardest fights are the first two fights.
Given that mana is unlimited in 1 of those fights, and the other requires you to minimise healing significantly, because of agro, you do NOT need to be Holy/Disc for BWL at all.

My Druid doesn't have Innervate for example.

Re:BWL and shadow specced priests - 2006/02/16 20:29 The two first fight are indeed hard, but I wouldn't rate them as harder than Nefarian.

But Razorgore (1'st) does not require a certain gear or certain spec.
It's technically advanced though, and depending on what tactic you're using, Priests might not come in handy until halfway into the fight.

Vaelastrasz (2'nd) is very much about Tanks doing it right.
As a priest it is just up to you to keep everyone alive, and since your mana is infinite in this fight, your regen or spec will be of less importance. Ofc it does help with some extra healingpower, but it is not necessity, that goes for all the other fights as well.

Nefarian is the fight I see major advantages in being specced something else than Shadow.

Re:BWL and shadow specced priests - 2006/02/17 05:35 Some of our raiding priests who typically are shadow spec, respec to attend raids. Yes, its very costly but it makes a big difference.
