Druid Talents - 2005/07/18 21:51 My kid sister plays a level 60 Druid, but she's only ever played Restoration-specced (read: Priest without PW:S, but with Innervate... f%*@ing good trade!).

How viable are the other Druid trees? What kinds of things can you do with them?

I've heard that Feral is still pretty broken, and doesn't really have any specific uses, while Balance is the only way a Druid has any hope of dealing damage.

Any thoughts? I don't know enough to say... I know when I poked around on Thottbot, I decided I might try a Balance specced Druid if I ever made one, but... yeah. Someone else talk now.

Re:Druid Talents - 2006/02/16 08:47 The difficulty in giving any kind of advice on Druid Talents, is how wide the range of roles and options available to the Druid is.
If you are takling about raiding, general PvP, group PvP, solo PvP, grinding.
As a result, I will talk in generalities, and themes, and you can fill-in the talents in between.
So here goes some suggestions.
For pure damage, Balance is probably the way to go, especially if you find yourself playing with a few Mages. Either combined with some Feral for usility, or resto for back-up healing power in groups.
For pure raiding, a heavy resto spec is suggested. Your Priests will love you for Innervate, and your chances to use any other abilities will be sorely limited until you have some seriously uber (or tanking specific) gear (and can tank).
For PvP I would suggest some kind of combo spec, and it depends on what PvP, and with whom you PvP as to whihc combo.
A pure Feral build could be excellent if you solo a lot, or play with a bunch of rogues.
A 30 feral 21 resto build is also excellent. This gives you the 20% extra hps in bear/mana in caster/str in cat. As well as giving you NSwiftness for emergency situations.
My current build is 21 resto for healing in raids/PvP(and NSwiftness). 16 in Balance for OOClarity, Imp range. 14 in feral for Feral charge and increased crits.
